This beautiful palace was converted to a hotel years ago. The location next to the pyramids is great (if that's all you want to see). It's inconvenient for seeing the rest of Cairo. My advice is to go to the lobby bar and have yourself a Turkish coffee in full view of the pyramids. Wander into the restaurant if you... More

This hotel has a wonderful history. Winston Churchill, General Montgomery and many other XX century personalities were guests here. We thought that the hotel was administered by the Oberoi Hotels but not any longer. Subsequently, the service has declined. Rooms are outdated. Breakfast was ok, cold for most part, views of the pyramids from the breakfast area are however spectacular.... More

The location of the hotel was excellent. The pyramid is insight from the hotel restaurant. This was the only great thing about the Hotel. Service, facilities and breakfast level was average. No Wifi in the room but available in the lobby. Staff was OK

What a lovely dining experience. This hotel dates back to the 1800s and is reputed to be the favourite of the who's who. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Mogul Room Restaurant. Our server Gabel Sayed was exceptional. He was welcoming, courteous, and attentive. Our meal was superb and so was the service. What a memorable experience! As we... More

I always take visitors to have breakfast or lunch at the restaurant located next to the reflecting pool because the view of the pyramids is absolutely beautiful. You can relax and enjoy the view while you eat, take some pictures and then visit the hectic area of the pyramids! The buffet breakfast is 155 LE and after 11am they serve... More

5 star rooms. Pyramid view rooms a must. The whole lobby being in a building separate to reception was confusing but worked. Loved the style and a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Cairo. Would recommend staying here for a last 2 nights to get the most out of the stay. Only criticism (minor) no wifi in the... More

Our stay at the Mena House was incredible. It is the perfect place to stay while visiting the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Saqqara, & Memphis. It is also a fairly short drive to downtown Cairo. So, it might also be a great option for visiting the in-town sights. It is located directly next door to the Pyramids and most rooms have... More

Very nice hotel in great location. The downsides were: Music (loud) played in pool area and other outdoor areas (which is a pet hate for us) Hotel not helpful when we asked for a street map to help us locate a local restaurant (we were directed to the bookshop)! Wifi was only free in reception area away from main hotel... More

The Mena House is famous for its fabulous service. This hotel is the very best and closest to the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Where else can you lay by the pool and look up at the only surviving wonder of the Ancient Seven Wonders. Hired and private guide and limo from here and did the Plateau, Saqqara and Memphis. The... Hotel has an amazing view of the Pyramids but that's about it. Rooms have no free wifi and the food options are sort of limited, its not like we could go out and find a restaurant nearby, the security around the area makes it hard...not that I am complaining about security. Oh and the problem of the lobby being in... More
