Certainly pay the fee to get insight. It is some 10 British pounds per person, but I found it amazing. It makes you feel like a drop in the ocean, considering the history all around you and I can not imagine how people could have built this thousands of years before us. Negative are: you need a lot of patience... More

The walk inside the pyramid was a ripoff. You get to pay $18 for the privilege of waying you did it -- climbed up a steep incline in a small stairway, to a room with the stone tomb but nothing else. You'll get sore legs, winded, and a lightr wallet. More

First let me say that I've travelled all over the world and even lived and worked in the Middle East (including Saudi Arabia at the height of the terrorist incidents) and know how to look after myself, but this is the first time I've felt truly threatened. I took a taxi to the pyramids. On the final approach road there... More

Must see, one of the wonders of the world, for sure on everybody’s “bucket list”. Impressive huge limestone blocks construction of 144 m high, standing there for thousands of years. Eight other pyramids are in the complex, together with the Sphinx. Don’t miss mortuary ship fully restored, separately exposed in the complex. You may want to hire a camel or... More

Finally, the Great Pyramids! It's truly amazing that these majestic structures have survived for so long. With tourism down 85%, the souvenir hawkers have become very aggressive and their persistence somewhat diminished the excitement. We entered the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three pyramids of Giza; the long passage was stiflingly hot and not for those who may... More

All three of the great pyramids are as amazing as they seem on movies - and so close to central Cairo! Hire a driver to take you. You don't need to have any guide show you around if you have a good driver. Tell anyone who approaches you 'no' that you don't need any pictures or guide. But you will... More

Amazing to stand beside such an enormous structure and realise it's age and sheer size. We had a local guide who proved invaluable in guiding us on dealing with the local 'hawkers'. Be prepared to be swamped by people trying to sell you something! More

always exciting to see these monuments but very sorry to see that many international tourists are staying away and the guides are not doing well and some almost molesting the few tourists left, to survive in this hard conditions. Amazing the way up in the King's chamber, the Great Gallery but one thing to complain...how is it possible to let... More
