This was excellently presented so you could see the whole boat - it is quite large. The pit it came out of is also there. If you go to the pyramids you must visit the solar boat

Highly recommend taking time to see this while on the plateau. Hard to imagine this boat being preserved for so long in the sand. You can actually see the quality of workmanship they at a time so long ago. Absolutely Fascinating!!

This was our third visit to the solar boat, and I think every time we go back to Egypt we'll for sure pay a visit to it again and again. Sad to see some teenagers around there with no interest in history, but just wanted to have photos taken with the female tourist, and there was no control over it... More

Restored huge pharonic barge used on the Nile. I did not expect the boat to be that large & well preserved.

Absolute must to visit while at the Pyramid Plateau of Giza. The tickets are separate to the area but everyone who goes will not regret this visit at all. To say any more would just spoil the experience..... just remember while on the ground floor to look at the exhibits of photos and ropes with their knotting capabilities and then... More

Do the tour as part of your trip to the Pyramids - you will truly not get over what they found and then how they reconstructed the boat - then how they have reassembled and set it up for you to marvel at. The king (Cheops) was brought down the river in this boat, buried in his Pyramid and then... More

Our guide wasn't too keen on letting us have time to see this while in Gizeh, but you really have to see this. The Solar Boat was discovered in its own tomb and has been re-assembled in the ancient way--by lashing the planks together with rope! Fascinating exhibit, but we almost missed the real boat, which is upstairs--fortunately the man... More

The Khufu ship is an intact full-size vessel from Ancient Egypt that was sealed into a pit in the Giza pyramid complex at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza around 2500 BC. The ship now is preserved in the Giza Solar boat museum. The ship was almost certainly built for Khufu (King Cheops), the second pharaoh of the... More

It is one of the best museum at pyramids area. You visit it during your visit to the pyramids. It shows how the boat was discovered and assembled to its original state. Just wonderful.

The Soalr boat museum is hidden between the two mighty pyramids and can easily be missed if you do not know it is there. It is not advertised or sign posted. But this does have an advantage in that you do not have to queue to get in. Once you have paid the entrance fee you ahve to put on... More
