We were going to get a guide but in the end went by ourselves. This was fairly easy for us since the site was only 700 meters from our hotel (Mena House) It actually was not too bad walking around the site. Took a camel ride. Definitely a lot of people trying to get you to take a camel or... More

When you head up to the plateau through the bustling streets of Cairo, suddenly the pyramids pop out of the lansdscape and the sight is breath taking! It's beautiful. Unfortunately, due to the hawkers on and around the actual plateau you really can't soak up the magnitude of the pyramids or sphinx because you just can't relax. You are constantly... More

It's obviously a must do and a marvel of the a client world....amazes one how they built these in those days...takes you to the movies of Ben Hur and 10 commandments watched as a child. One imp tip , must go with a private tour guide they speak English and keep all the not so good experience such as the... More

This site is still amazing. I even enjoyed the camel ride, where I was quite critical before I came there. The pyramids are extremely impressive. Be aware that it closes at around 4. The Sphinx is a bit disappointing. If the traders bother you just say Shukran, which means thank you and keep on walking without stopping or talking too... More

The plateau is a real sight to be seen and if you visit Egypt, one not to be missed. Daytime or night time when the place is fully illuminated, it is a spectacular view and one of the world must sees! Sadly there are a lot of people around hassling you to buy something be it a souvenir or a... More
