So thrilled to be in a place where Joseph, Mary & Jesus stopped. The well, the Tree and simple Garden got to us. We were told that our Princess Diana visited. This review is quite late. The Virgin's Tree is something special because it is here where the Blessed Virgin Mary took shade during a brief stopover from their long journey. Although the tree is actually dead and only its wooden remain is all that is left it is still a significant site especially to Christians.

I was surprised that there was an entry fee of LE15 just to look at an old tree, but it is a nice quiet haven in an otherwise busy suburb. Easy to get to from Matariya Metro station, just take a tuktuk, ask for Shagaret Maryam, or combine it with a visit to the obelisk.
