We loved our visit to this park, we first watched the sunset, then enjoyed exploring, it is a big park and lost of people exploring and lots of families and couples - it was so great after dark, just beautiful with the fountains and lights...hard to believe it used to be a garbage dump.

This beautiful getaway in the midst of the grit and grime. A fantastic place to be during the call to prayer.

I was not sure this was going to be worth the visit but I had planned 5 days with EMO Tours in Cairo to see everything I thought may be of interest to me. I was not disappointed in going with my guide Rudy to this truly beautiful in-city park built on the former location of a garbage disposal hill... More

Obviously coming from the west, this for me is just another park. But for the local Egyptian people, it is a haven away from the chaos of Cairo, a sanctuary where they can feel grass under their feet and not concrete and rubble. It really is quite beautiful and serenity amongst the craziness.

It is really the oasis in the middle of the crowd and the pollution. When you are inside it you feel the relaxation and enjoying the beautiful landscape of Cairo especially when the weather is clear.

Charming. Fountains, easy walking paths, good views of Cairo. Go there to see Cairenes enjoying themselves. Local sight: The afternoon rain was not an occasion to flee the outside or even pull out an umbrella - but rather to enjoy the water from the sky. Take a taxi - not readily accessible as a pedestrian ( I took a taxi... More

Completely in contrast to the city, Al Azhar Park is quiet, green, tidy, and well kept. Only 5 minutes walk uphill from the Al Azhar end of Khan El Khalili. It has a couple of very good restaurants also, so after enjoying the walk round the park, you can enjoy lunch or dinner in very agreeable surroundings.
