We went to this park after sunset and it’s amazing. It’s a big place, with a lake, trees, grass, everything clean, with only Egyptian citizens. From there, you could see all the Old Cairo monuments illuminates, a wonderful view. There are several coffees and restaurants inside the park, all with nice views. If you are not on an organized tour or have a day to spare, this is the place to go to. I am a pensioner (doing a fair bit of solo traveling) but this is a location for all ages. The Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum etc all of great interest but this is a wonderful, green and with the absence... more

thank to recommendation from Cairo Wendy, I took my family to this park on my last day in Egypt. We paid 10LE for a taxi ride from Khan El Khalili to the park. The entrance fee was only 5 LE ( a nice relief ). The park was full of Egyptians strolling about with their kids. It was very nice... more

I live in Cairo, so this is one of the places I like to go to whenever I get the chance. This park was funded and established through the Aga Khan Trust, they turned a dusty unused area of hills into an amazing haven. Something Cairo was sadly lacking. it opened about 2 years ago.
