The necropolis at Saqqara is my favorite site in Egypt probably because visitors are relatively free to roam the site and explore. The pyramid of Djoser is the showpiece of the entire site. We went to the Step Pyramid as part of our guided tour with Rasha. There is so much more to the complex than just the pyramid. The entrance to the courtyard is fantastic, especially the false door with false hinges. more
