Cairo was not the place I was expecting to find Classical Music concerts (Besides Verdi's Aida), I was pleasently surprised. The orchestra seem little bit of a mixture of different level of people but overall I enjoyed More

Spent Christmas Day at the matinee here. So lots of school groups and families but a large proportion of the audience clapped their way through the overture and laughed pantomine style as Clara slipped on the artificial snow. The Cairo Opera House is lovely. The evening we went, the symphony was not in session, but we were able to attend two a chamber group concerts. There was no charge, the music was wonderful. I would certainly have paid for this opportunity! More

The Cairo Opera House is a smart building with attractive litter free grounds which makes pleasant walking from the moment you enter the entrance gate to the moment you leave again. Some courtyards have attractive marbled floors and small fountains. The guards are helpful and the ticket office therefore easy to find. Be wary though - they will not sell... More

The Cairo Opera House is a beautiful building with comfortable seating, excellent sight lines and good acoustics. We went to two performances during our stay in Cairo and both were of a very high quality. We saw a production of Verdi's Aida and were very impressed by the quality of the singing. We heard the Cairo Symphony perform a largely... More
