What a lovely city to walk around! You will get 100s of really amazing pics if that is your thing. Lots of craggily brinks and cobblestones, so wear something comfortable while walking around...we could have walked around for several more days. There will be many beggars, so be prepared for that. But really an amazing place!

Georgia was not on our must see places, however living in Aktau limits your travel destinations for short breaks. We chose Tbilisi because of direct flights and no visa requirement. Did a little research and thought Tbilisi..."why not?" We were absolutely amazed! Ancient city steeped in history, easy to get around, terrific food and cheap compared to European destinations. certainly the surroundings of the castle are worth a visit. Next to it, you can see the impressive sulphur baths. If you follow to river behind the castle, you enter a deep gorge, from where you can take a staircase all the way up to the castle. The castle itself is not worth a visit, but the part of old... We found guide and it was so intersting to heard lot of stories and historical moments. Some days later we took a trip through old Tbilisi on our own and just watched once again the city and beaty around it, it was so nice to be there.

My new year's resolution was to travel more, and I got out of my comfort zone by coming to this place. I really loved it. My family is from Italy so it's got that old world vibe, not too many crowds, and a real authentic experience.

nice old town feeling, worth wondering off the main road, check out the Sulphur Baths, take the funicular to the top, do some wine tasting, etc.. nice beer and pastries, inexpensive - though avoid restaurants and cafe`s right in the tourist district as it costs about 5x more for everything :)

The old town of tabilisi is ok . Not much to do or to see .. Just an old town .. The bars and the club is not welcoming tourists .. And the gorgonian people are not friendly .

...and a huge tourist trap. Definitely worth checking out, but be cautious of overly zealous shopkeepers and the many beggars in the area. There are quite a few gypsy kids who are pretty aggressive about asking for money, so watch your belongings.
