Well... sigh. When in Tbilisi... :-) The vodka is always great and pretty cheap. The food will always be Georgian (compare it to Irish food from thirty years ago), heavy on the carbs, fat and protein, very low on the veggies and trust me: there is not a single restaurant for foodies. So go for CHEAP. It's the same thing. Go... More

The first impressions of the old town are very contrasted. You just wonder at the first glance why everyone rates it so well but after 5 minutes, you just love it: the atmosphere you can breathe, the little cafes and bar in every corner, the beauty of the decadent buildings, the feeling of faded grandeur....a very entertained city There are... Sulphur baths experience far surpassed the Istanbul Hamas. Private baths for 80 Larissa is the way to go.restaurants very lively. Great food. Felt safe.

I am coming to Tbilisi since 2008 and I notice improvements every year I come back. There is a lot of renovation going on and none of the charm is lost. It's lovely just to walk around looking at the architecture. There are also plenty of good restaurants and cafes around. Prices are on the high side for Tbilisi (obviously),... More

The old town is I think one of the main reasons to go to Tbilisi. There are so many little streets and photogenic buildings to discover, lots of places to eat, interesting shops, churches tucked away here and there... Good to walk through on the way to and from some of the other sights. You just need sensible footwear because... More

the old buildings and cobblestone walkways, the waterfall area near the abanotubani, the views by the river and cliffs... A few gypsy types around but not really a huge bother

I have been to Tbilisi four times and each time have spent almost the entire time walking around Old Town Tbilisi. The endless cafes, beautiful architecture and charm make it a must for any trip to Tbilisi.

Old Tbilisi is one of the famous places I have seen. Amazing view, beautiful churches, very tasty Georgian restaurants and warm feeling city. I recommend highly.

What a lovely city to walk around! You will get 100s of really amazing pics if that is your thing. Lots of craggily brinks and cobblestones, so wear something comfortable while walking around...we could have walked around for several more days. There will be many beggars, so be prepared for that. But really an amazing place!
