We chartered a boat for a 4 hour fish. Started slowly and then got better as we went from trawling to line fishing. Fish aren't that big due to the cyclone and overfishing and the fish are suffering from some disease so none we caught could be eaten. Boat and staff were good. Not cheap but enjoyable

We have just got back to the hotel after going on a 4 hour charter with these guys. We were on their new boat stormbird with Sammy as our skipper and Tommy as the deck hand. The fishing was great. We did a bit of game fishing and caught a massive barracuda at 21.5kg and another wahoo which would have... More

I have rated this trip as very good even though the fishing was fairly poor, we fished Tuesday & Wednesday without scoring any sort after species (although we did lose a big Wahoo) no other boats scored on these days. We had Thursday off (again no boats scored) and went back Friday, Skipper Sammy had an overnight report of Yellowfin... More

We did a 4 hr game fish on Shogun, which the boat and the equipment were all good, but we caught no fish. I can accept catching no fish, because thats fishing. BUT, whilst we were up on the fly bridge, the deck hand decided to help himself to 10000 vatu from my wallet, which was in my back pack.... More

We do remember this person and when he brought to our attention that he thought that he had lost 10,000vt we immediately spoke to both the skipper and deck hand and we were informed by both that at all times that there was always one angle in the cabin area which was where the back pack was kept. This is... More

Deckhand Tommy was a great bloke very friendly and knew his fishing. Couldn't put us on the fish, but that's why it's fishing- not catching!

Went fishing with my son on their Blackwatch named Shogun, skippered by Sammy put us in the right place at the right time. Watching Sammy on the controls while Max reeled in a marlin for a good hour showed his expertise. Pete and Leanne run a truly professional operation whether its fishing or diving. And jays094 comment, mate pay up... More

All we wanted to do was fish, we had been in touch with Pete over emails and when we arrived we booked a morning which was easy to do. We were collected from Mangoes at the time agreed and we were taken and introduced to our skipper Sammy and decky Lio (??) I think that is how to spell it.... More

Pete Phillipps makes a special effort to talk on the phone with clients beforehand, to set expectations and answer questions. This extra step goes a long way to develop the relationship and to prepare you for a great experience on board Shogun. The value for money equation is simple- winning customer service, professional crew and equipment, fun atmosphere and great... More
