The ferry was fine. The entry price to the resort excessive, and unfortunately our son suffered a cut from the coral, which put him out of action for a few days. Hideaway first aid did not advise us that there is severe danger that such cuts can turn nastily infectious. Only the doctor who treated it said so. (Its' fine... More

The island itself was small and reasonably peaceful. The staff were kind and assertive, helping you if you were lost. The water was nice and the fish were amazing! I saw hundreds of colourful fish and thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling experience. definitely worth every cent.

We did a day trip to Hideaway Island. The bus was cheap from our resort and the ferry across to the Island was free. There is an entrance fee though. Here we just had a relaxing day and did some snorkelling off the beach which was very good. The food was very nice also. There isn't much else to do... More

We spent a day on Hideaway Island. It was very relaxing and an enjoyable day. We went over on the little ferry and paid our entry fee and spent the day lazing around in the sun and snorkeling off the beach. My daughter scraped her leg on the coral at one point and the gentleman from the dive shop was... More

This was our 1st experience of things to do in Port Vila. We caught a bus down to the ferry and went across to the island. The snorkeling was okay - bit of a cost to just go over to an island. We had a much better experience at Iririki Island and Erakor Island. We didn't hang around for the... More

If you are anticipating 5 star luxury & service then Hideaway is not your destination but this is the very reason I LOVE HIDEAWAY! A stunning marine reserve filled with a plethora of colourful sea life. Perfect for snorkelling and in particular scuba diving. Have not long returned from my 3rd scuba holiday on Hideaway I am looking forward to... More

We went 2 times over our 2 week holiday and it is just perfect for kids! Was great for our daughter to gain her confidence in the water. Food was really bad here - no taste.

Chose, on advice, to go on an organised tour. This was a tour organised by Hideaway resort itself rather than a tour operator. It was disappointing. I understand that 'boats break down and things happen' but the organisers made no apologies and offered no recompense for what was actually a disastrous day. The underwater post office was novel, the snorkelling... More

This was a great day trip for the family. Really easy snorkeling and fantastic range of fish. Lie in your beach chair, have a bit of a snorkel and repeat! Even though there were over 100 people there it didn't feel crowded as it was well set out. The food was a bit slow but it is Vanuatu so relax... More

Hideaway Island was one of the few let downs of our trip to Vanuatu. We had 6 hours to kill between flights and made the mistake of coming here. No swimming beach that we could find (just dead coral beach). No access to the pool. Average meals and a generally bogan vibe. All this we paid $10 each to access.... More
