Hideaway Island

A little over publicised.Erakor Island is nicer. Hideaway beach is all coral so make sure you have shoes to wear on the beach and to get into the water.

I have been to the reef at hideaway previously, it was an amazingly accessible snorkelling spot with an abundance of sea life. When i went most recently all of the beautiful coral and even the post box was gone. Really sad to see the once colourful reef now a dark and barren spot. They are attempting to regrow the reef... Took a taxi out here, as it had been reviewed so highly, no wow factor at all, more coral beach than sand, not sure what the charge getting onto the islands all about to be honest, would have better staying on the main beach looked nicer... But we chilled out on the beach for a few hours as we had... More

A wonderful couple of days spent at Hideaway. Take reef shoes. Hire snorkels - the kids saw Nemo and Dory. We also hired a stand up paddle board on which the kids floated - a great day. Coral beach so be sure to pack the shoes...

Absolutely beautiful spot for snorkelling. Great snorkelling. 1250 VT entry. Travelled in July no underwater post office anymore. No sand just coral rubble, be sure to bring shoes. Food was also expensive 1450vt for a chicken burger and chips, 950vt for beef burger and chips. Tasty food though. Service wasn't exactly warm and friendly. No word was spoken on entry... More

Half-day trip out to Hideaway for some snorkeling. Easy and free to catch the boat, but there is a charge for entry to the island. We brought our own snorkels, which saved money. The beach is coral rather than sand, so make sure to wear reef shoes! Cafe and toilet facilities available.
