The island had the best curry for lunch i have had in a long time and the water was clear with lots to see snokling, however the access to the water was difficult without footwear as the coral is sharp. Probably wouldn't stay the night there as very small, but as a day trip or even just for lunch and... More

Close to Port Vila, with good food and reasonable snorkeling right off the beach. At low tide you can walk over to the Island.

Easy to travel to, free ferry ride, entrance fee for day passengers. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, coral reef and snorkelling.

Only a short bus ride from town. About 1200 vatu entry, 1600 vatu for snorkelling gear (inc both flippers and snorkel). I did snorkelling but you can also do scuba diving. Beautiful reefs - cool fish and coral. There's a bar where you can enjoy a milkshake, cocktail, food all while enjoying the nice view of the water.

A day trip here to visit the world's first underwater post office. Unfortunately the actual post office is MIA following cyclone Pam but the post box is still there. Whether its snorkeling, fish feeding from the glass bottomed boat, chilling at the beach bar or sun baking on the sunbeds on the beach, this is a fab place to spend... More

Fantastic coral reef reserve for the novice snorkelers. Family friendly - we couldn't get our 10 & 11 year old out of the water. Lots of deck chairs lined up along the shore, a bar serving snacks and meals all day, and the world's only underwater post box. Remember to take reef shoes to Vanuatu as many beaches are made... My first time diving could not have been better. The staff spent a lot of time explaining things to me on land and in very shallow water, before we went for a dive in stunningly clear (and not too deep) water filled with amazingly different fish. All up, over two hours having one on one instruction, and the taxi to... More

Negotiate a price with a bus or taxi to Hideaway Island where a free water taxi takes you across to the island. An island tax around $13pp is payable on entry and snorkel and flipper rental is available. The spend the day paddling the coral reefs or resting on a sun lounge with lunch and drinks from the bar. If... More

We went in December / January for a day trip with some friends- and the coral and fish had significantly improved over the last few years we had previously been there. The café food was also excellent, although the toilets need a refurbishment big time. Unfortunately, I don't know what damage has been caused by the cyclone.
