This is a sheltered bay just past Anse Vata Bay. Lots of restaurants. We biked around to it from our hotel, Le Meridien. Swimming and just people watching. Very popular with the locals.

Lovely calm beach, plenty of room and a shallow slope so safe for the little ones. Do watch out for glass that gets washed up, nearly all of it is smooth but we did find a couple of pieces that were quite sharp.

Plage de la Baie de Citrons is one of two public beaches on Noumea. It’s less packed with cafes and bars, and has good public parking just beside the wide swathe of sand. The water is calm and clean. This is definitely a good beach in Noumea. There are no amenities here for rent, so come with your own chairs... More

Calm and quiet clear waters for swimming. But beware of pollution, due to a failing drain system, and poor used water treatment, added to the presence of numerous new restaurants night-clubs and pubs that enforce the lack of public policy in terms of hygiene. A nice place anyways, with a great local nightlife.

A safe beach that is patrolled and great for families. Very clean and cared for. Fabulous sunsets at night.

We were in this area on our walk looking for places we remembered from 50 years ago, needless to say a few changes! Great for swimming still, clear water with netted off areas and access for boats, jet ski etc. Lots of food outlets across the road, some shops, a great area to soak up the atmosphere. We were particularly impressed... More

This bay is very nice, on one side you have the beach with crystal clear water and on the other side you have restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and the excellent Amorino Ice cream parlour (if you happen to be there you cannot miss this one). Most of the establishments are open all day and serve snacks in between meals.

Nice sheltered cove where locals come to spend their weekend days. Good for kids, and they have showers to wash off the salt and sand.
