Booked tender and tour on our cruise. We only wanted to go the beach. We booked tour and tender early and were on the first bus to arrive at the beach so we could set up where we wanted to be for the day. The tree near the decorated, cloth covered stumps is a good area so you see from... More

We went there yesterday for a day visit. The water taxi from our hotel was 2800 francs per person and the trip only took around 10-15 minutes. The boat ride get a little choppy. We arrived on the island to what I call the Noumea Bora Bora because the first thing that you see are the over water bungalows from... More

After doing Amadee and Canards, thought we would spend the day here. Other reviews had said to swim about 100m out, was glad for the advice or may not have made it to the reef. I think it was more like 200m out, and stronger current (not difficult though if you are an apt swimmer - and this is compared... More

Nice place to spend a few hours - walk around the island, watch the kite surfers, have a swim on the sheltered side. Pool is strictly for in house guests and unsmiling security guards ensure that rule is upheld. Reef shoes are handy as most of the island is fringed by rock.

If you just want to spend the day relaxing having a picnic by beautiful clear waters with some great snorkelling then look no further. We almost didn't go because we read a few reviews that didn't rate this island or preferred Duck Island more. However, partner and I think it's the other way around. Maitre Island is what you expect... More

Thank you to the General Manager of La Promenade Hilton for generously giving us tickets to this Island. Its a short 20 minute boat ride from the marina. You can easily lap the Island in 20 minutes. At one stage my husband and I were the only 2 people on a stretch of beach. You can have lunch there at... More
