Fantastic little island, great snorkelling and exceptional buffet lunch, not cheap, but you don't do this everyday. Will definitely be staying at L'Escapade on our next visit.

Not as good as Ile aux Canards but worth a visit for a few hours. A nice boat trip from Noumea and the walk around the island doesn't take long and is good. The water is very clear but the beach is only ok with one side dominated by parasailers and wind surfers

The island is just beautiful. Only 15 mins away from main island by taxi boat. Try to get there early like 10am so that you can walk to near island before the tide is came. I recommend the taxi boat "Colleen excursion glass boat" . They are rent along mask, fin and snorkel and letted us know if we are... More

We spent 3 nights here at the resort (see separate review), however, this review is about the island itself. It is so close to Noumea but you feel like you are in paradise. It does get busy at weekends with day trippers (locals) and can be windy but it was fun to watch all the Kite and Windsurfers on the... More

What can you say about a destination that doesn't even let you get settled on the water taxi before you have arrived? As we walked along the jetty, we saw a turtle, 2 massive schools of bait fish being attacked by larger predators and a sea snake. And we hadn't set foot on the island yet. Add to this water... More

Enjoyed my two or three hour visit to this atoll, the boat trip over was great, only 30 minutes and interesting views back to Noumea. You can have a buffet lunch but it's expensive, the bar served snacks as well and this was adequate for lunch for me. The staff were very friendly and polite. It was totally relaxing, either... More

Gorgeous wee spot where you can overnight if you wish in a house over the water. The water taxi ride was exhilarating. Probably a good idea to take some food over with you but there is nice food there if you can't be bothered...you're on holiday after all!! Very popular on the weekends, we were there on a Sunday and... More

We went over for the day to anchor offshore and snorkel. There were plenty of colourful fish to see but the water was freezing! The island itself is very small and very charming. Worth a day trip.

Visited this pretty little island twice during our holidays there in July! Good for snorkelling and also for just lounging around on the beach! Cheapest way to get there is catch the boat from Cafe Fun Beach(where they also have a glass bottomed boat too!) Great place to watch kitesurfers on the other side of the island where it is... More
