I had never snorkeled around coral reef before, That place amazed me. Cristal clear waters, unbelievable variety of fish. water taxi can take you there $20AU. you don't need rent an umbrella etc, but if you do its about $40AU for two.make sure you have your snorkeling gear with you

This island is situated around 1.5 kms away from Noumea's Anse Vata beach. You can access it by windsurf, stand up paddle, canoe, swimming, kite surfing, with your boat/jetski or with several charter boats. The island is pretty small, covered for most part of dead corals so bring shoes or flipflop to walk around. The underwater is very rich in... More

We (family of 4 kids ages 12 n 9) spent 4 days in noumea and loved the day we spent at isle aux canards. We hired 2 double kayaks from anse vata Beach for 2 hours (5600 fpf) and paddled out ( about 1/2 hour paddle), brought only goggles but didn't see the need to hire snorkel gear and spent... More

We had a great day here our favourite of the whole trip. Catch the glass bottom boat water taxi for 1000 franc. The owners and workers are the kindest. They also go nice and slowly over the coral so you can see the fish. We also saw a turtle and shark while on their boat. They also gave us bread... More

We travelled to this cute little island via a quick water taxi ride from Anse Vata Beach. Snorkelling is amazing. Beach was OK. You have to pay to use the deck chairs so bring a towel and just lie on the beach. There is also a restaurant.

We loved Noumea. We chose to do a train tour around, which took us to all the tourist places and beautiful scenery spots. The streets are full of small shops and there is a market at the main port. Just outside of the main town are gorgeous beach towns with restaurants, shops etc.

1200 xpf return on water taxi pp. we left 9.30am and paid 2800 xpf for two loungers and umbrella - well worth it. Snorkel hire 600xpf for an hour with a 1000 refundable deposit. We took snack food and water and soft drinks and stayed 5 hours. Snorkelling was amazing. Highlight of our trip

The island was a poor experience. The fees for the lounges, food and umberellas was a rip off. Not much space and the snorkeling is just ok. The boat trip in and out is the best part.

We caught the water taxi (1200 fr) to the Island (5 minutes). We were able to hire a beach umbrella and two beach chairs (2800 fr) for the day but were disappointed the snorkel hire was (1800 fr) by the hour. I would recommend taking your own so you can get in and out of the water to snorkel. The... More

Best snorkelling around. Easy access when water is calm. If choppy, don't bother as it is just too rough. The underwater trail guides you around a coral reef with a tremendous variety of both coral and fish. We found 2 hours at a time was enough as the underwater trail is relatively short and the rest of the island is... More
