We trekked Kokoda in 2012 with Kokoda Trekking (late review) and had an amazing time. With the right preparation it really is an enjoyable experience! We had local guides and porters who went above and beyond to ensure everyone had an enjoyable and safe trek, and finished the trail in 7 days from Owers corner -> Kokoda. Would love to... More

I joined a small group to walk Kokoda from South to North in October 2015. Our 7 trekkers took 8 days to walk the Track but our itinerary had us in PNG 12 days. We were supported by 1 Aussie Guide and 22 PNG Nationals. I chose Getaway Trekking and Adventures (GTaA) and was very happy with the whole experience.... More

I did this trek at the end of the wet season end April for the Anzac day dawn service at Brigade Hill mid trail. This is an amazing 7 day experience that I highly recommend. You do need a good level of fitness and a strong mindset. Did my trek with backtrack travel from Brisbane Australia. If you only do... More

I did the trek with ETA in October this year led by Shane Goodwin. It was a great experience and highly recommended. There is a choice of companies but I was really glad I chose ETA. They were very professional and well organised. It is very obvious Shane has a passion for PNG and its people. He has a great... More

Waking the Kokoda Track is going to be challenging, and emotional, and a bit scary, so it's important to choose a company that is there to support you every step of the way (pun intended). I chose Escape Trekking Adventures, which was definitely the best decision. I walked the ANZAC Day trek in April of 2015, in the ridiculous mud... More

I joined Escape Trekking Adventures to do the Kokoda Track in August 2015. Well led by Shane Goodwin, the trek was a great success, both from the point of view of personal achievement and the team spirit that inevitably develops on the track. The trek was also something of a pilgrimage for me, to honour those that fought and died... More

Thanks to Sue from Getaway Trekkers and her guides Russell and Gresham, I had an experience beyond expectation. Yes it was the most difficult adventure I have ever taken on and the 7 months of training was definately needed as I went from the "couch to kokoda". Getaway Trekkers were fabulous to deal with and were full of support and... More

Trekking the Kokoda trail was incredible!!!!! It is one of the toughest, most rewarding trips that we have ever done! Our trek leader Peter from Adventure Kokoda was highly experienced and knowledgeable, and along with the team of porters (who kept us fed, tented and safe on the track) made this a trip of a life time. We trained hard... More

Well, where do I start? I always said to myself that one day I was going to do the Kokoda Trail and what better incentive to do it just before my 50th birthday. So I contacted 4 or 5 different trekking companies and after receiving replies from most of them, one company really stood out from the rest. Escape Trekking... More
