Have just completed a trek with Adventure Kokoda on the 100th anniversary of the Anzacs, the trek was a physical and mental challenge but very rewarding and informative and well led by trek leader Charlie Lynn, his research, knowledge and passion for the Kokoda campaign made the trek a truly memorable one. Along with providing an informative and rewarding trek... More

I trekked with a group of 9 uni friends with Adventure Kokoda (highly recommended) during September. Our trek was about 8 days and included transfers to and from Port Moresby. On the practical side, we had porters carrying our tents and main meals, while we carried our own bedding, clothing, water, snacks etc. Our packs were about 10-15kg each. This... More

I was convinced to trek Kokoda by 2 of our adult children who wanted to honour their grandfather who has had a lifetime interest in Australia's wartime history in New Guinea. Probably not my first choice for an adventure trip but I am so pleased that I did it. It was fantastic. We joined a group from Escape Trekking Adventures... More

I will only "Adventure Travel" with the "No Roads" tour company. (I must first advise that I am friends with one of the Kokoda tour guides and have travelled to the Komodo Islands with the owner). I went back to Kokoda in November 2014 with a group of nurses as part of their "No Roads to Health" (NR2H) program. At... More

Kokoda Trek has been on my list for a while and turning 63 in Dec 2014 I decided that this was the year. Escape Trekking Adventures was recommended to me by a friend that had done this in August 2013 - well I took the plunge and sooo glad I did - Escape Trekking Adventures lived up to all that... More

I did the Kokoda Trail with Adventure Kokoda, with Charlie Lynn as the Trek Leader. Many emotions were felt as we walked across the Kokoda Trail, making it especially difficult to grasp onto specifics. However, the Kokoda Trail has changed me. Listening to Charlie Lynn's fascinating account of the history and to visualise it as I walked the trail opened... More

As a teenager it was awesome to see first hand the conditions in which our diggers fought. Kokoda is a tiresome yet extremely rewarding adventure. If you're up for the challenge, it will be something that you gain a lot from. The more you prepare, the less you'll struggle and aerobic fitness is crucial. For anyone wanting to get the... More

In short, this was a very tough trek, but so rewarding, particularly in hindsight. It's 11 days in total, with 9 days on the Track itself and one day at either end in Port Moresby. I did the trek through BackTrack Adventures in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Kokoda is their speciality, having undertaken these trips for 30 years (since 1984), and... More

The Kokoda Track is AMAZING but oh so very hard. I went to PNG for 12 days and spent 9 of them on the track. It is the most gruelling thing I have ever done. The guides and Porters from Getaway Trekking were fantastic, couldn't have done it without those Buna boys.

Well, the day finally came on Sept 25th when our group found ourselves landing at the grassed Kokoda airstrip to start the 10day trek to Owers Corner. After lots of preparation and organising the required items it was about to begin. The preparation was made simple with lots of correspondence from Adventure Kokoda advising on what to take and how... More
