I was recently on a trek from south to north with Escape Trekking Adventures. The Kokoda track was an amazing experience filled with such history. Our guide was so helpful and gave us an immence feeling of the history of the track and its value to Australians. What was really surprising was the quality and variety of the food we were... More

I walked Kokoda from North to South with Escape Trekking Adventures. We started as a collection of individuals, some had known each other before, all from different backgrounds and locations. Over the next 9 days of hiking, swapping stories, sharing meals, participating in history nature and military insights we became a group of friends and have remained in touch since... More

Walking kokoda has always been on the check list, but i was always hesitant. After loads of research, i decided on Escape Trekking Adventures, Shane was so helpful from day dot to help me with training, expectations and what gear i needed. He even helped me save money. The track itself was really hard. I had my ups and downs,... More

Trek with a small Australian owned family company (KTA commercial operator licenced) that offers free gear hire and unlike the larger operators in touch with you personally to ensure your pre and post trek experience will be just that a lifetime experience. Reputation is everything to ETA so your comfort and safety is paramount to a very experienced Operator. I... More

My name is Jenaya Scheidler, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Campbelltown, Sydney. I walked the track from 19th of september until the 28th, so all up 9 days. I went with 4 teachers and 5 students including myself, it was my first time over seas, and to go and follow the footsteps of our brave men was an... More

The difficulty of this trail was about average. Its not very scenic so unless you're interested in the history its not worth it, you'd be better off doing the Black Cat track or Mt Wilhelm. Hiked the trail as cheaply as possible but still with a guide in June 2013. I didn't contact any trekking agencies until I was in... More

I have walked this track on 2 occasions, from both directions and they are equally challenging. It was a nine day walk and although each day is relatively hard it is made more difficult by having to back up day after day. We all made it, a fantastic way to experience some of Australia's war time history walking the path... More

I went with Back Track in November 2013. For most people this is a once in a lifetime trek and the people from Back Track made it a memorable experience. Our trek leader had a great passion for the war history as well as the people living on the track today. Everything was well organised and the porters were amazing.... More

Completed the Kokoda trek with Getaway Trekking. We were a small group of 7 (including the trek leader, Julie). The porters amazing (Buna boys) and the trek itself was challenging and rewarding. Would recommend the company and the trek.
