The exhibits at fort zeelandia are pretty basic and primarily in Dutch but the building itself is worth the visit and there are nice views of the river from the ramparts, plus a memorial to the victims of the December murders. It is a significant site in Suriname's history. The restaurant in the fort Baka Foto has a great setting...

We went to a art exhibit at night so it was special with the lighting and beautiful tropical evening. We also went to the small bar to have a drink by the river.

This fort/museum is very nice with pictures of slaves, i saw a wheel chair from centuries ago, the biggest copper tea pot i have ever seen, the sipral staircase takes you to the roof top which over looks the river.
There is a mini restaurant/lounge downstairs to relax...it should be noted that its &5.00usd to enter this fort..
