Just outside of Bogota this is a great place, amazing that it is all salt inside, the stations of the cross are very symbolic and surprisingly moving. It's almost otherworldly in there and if you are lucky to go before any big groups you may even hear the sound of Gregorian chanting echoing about. Impressive site. more

The Salt Cathedral was an awesome experience. My husband and I were there several weeks ago with a group from the United States (Christian Motorcyclists Association). We were blessed with an English speaking guide - very knowledgeable and friendly. It was so neat to see all the carvings and sculptures and the huge cross cut out in the main section.... more

The lady tour guide is very knowledgeable and gave us so much details of all the rooms inside...this is a great... more

It took a bit to get out to the cathedral but once there (two long bus rides, endless hiking up hills and stairs), it was well worth the effort. We were able to get an English speaking guide, who explained the stations of the cross on the first level, then the views of the spaces on the second and third... more

Located about an hour away from Bogota, this place is truly spectacular. The caverns are really extensive, expect to spend at least 2 hours exploring - there are guides to explain the different areas and tell the history. If you are into indigenous artifacts there is a museum just down the hill that is stuffed with pottery, etc. more
