I thoroughly enjoyed my day there. The weather turned on me and it rained for over an hour and I still had an amazing visit. The conservatory was larger than most I have been too. I spent most of the time it rained, warm and dry wandering the many rooms of the conservatory. I did two laps and wasn't bored.... More

Stunning gardens! It is a great way to introduce oneself to the diverse flora of Colombia, all in one spot! Beautiful bridge and pond as well.

If you want to get rid of the noise of the city, of the crowd, of the feeling of being unsafe, go to the Botanical Garden. You can spend a whole day there, and it is worth any penny.

We spent our first morning in Bogota here, birding and checking out the orchids. The birding was interesting, but the orchids were stunning. Colombia has about 4000 named species of orchids. We were lucky to be there during an annual festival when several orchid vendors were displaying their wares in addition to the normal showings. Very nice.

I took a taxi here from the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise in the middle of Bogota. Entry is $2700 COP ($1.35) per adult, it is well worth a visit. The gardens are well maintained with plenty of beautiful flowers, trees, ponds and plants to see. It will take you about 2 hours at a leisurely stroll while stopping... More

Really nice place, lots to walk around, and a very nice little restaurant inside! A surprise! The grounds are clean and I was quite impressed I have to say. Getting there on a Sunday and trying to avoid the cicolvia routes is a big pain! Be prepared to navigate well!

The gardens and property are beautiful. Such a nice place to go walk around and have a coffee in one of the small cafes. You'll learn a lot about Colombia's native plants. We went on a Sunday (Bogotá's favorite day to be outside) and although there were a good number of people in the park, it didn't distract from the... More

Coming from London to this great city, I am accustomed to the botanical gardens of Kew. I am a keen regular at this London wonder. I didn't think any botanical garden could beat it. However, although Bogotá hasn't bettered it (in my opinion), the Jardin Botanico Jose Celestino Mutis provides the most fascinating botanical offering per square foot. It is... More

The gardens are wonderful. It is quite a big property so be prepared for a walk. There are places to eat. There is a huge rose garden, greenhouse with plants from different locations. The paths take you through areas that have plants from the different elevations in Colombia. There are so Native American style dwelling replicas and a garden showing... More

We visited this place during Feria de Flores 2014 and it was enchanting. The centre place with all the flowers designs, fragnance in the air was like a paradise on earth! There is a butterfly museum, however it closes by 4 pm. We missed this place.
