The gardens and property are beautiful. Such a nice place to go walk around and have a coffee in one of the small cafes. You'll learn a lot about Colombia's native plants. We went on a Sunday (Bogotá's favorite day to be outside) and although there were a good number of people in the park, it didn't distract from the... More

Coming from London to this great city, I am accustomed to the botanical gardens of Kew. I am a keen regular at this London wonder. I didn't think any botanical garden could beat it. However, although Bogotá hasn't bettered it (in my opinion), the Jardin Botanico Jose Celestino Mutis provides the most fascinating botanical offering per square foot. It is... More

The gardens are wonderful. It is quite a big property so be prepared for a walk. There are places to eat. There is a huge rose garden, greenhouse with plants from different locations. The paths take you through areas that have plants from the different elevations in Colombia. There are so Native American style dwelling replicas and a garden showing... More

We visited this place during Feria de Flores 2014 and it was enchanting. The centre place with all the flowers designs, fragnance in the air was like a paradise on earth! There is a butterfly museum, however it closes by 4 pm. We missed this place.

If you want to escape a little from the caos just go to this Jardin, there is a fee but nothing expensive. There's several mini gardens where they show medicinal plants or rainforest plants etc. It's a breath of fresh air in Bogotá.

Bogota has a very nice botanic garden featuring plants of various regions of the country. Very large and inexpensive - a great place to explore plants or just take a walk and get some refuge from the madness of Bogota. Good information and almost all exhibitions are well labelled. Self-guide is probably best, as many of the guides are not... More

I was really hoping to show my 3 year old the butterflies, but the exhibit no longer exists as of March of 2014. The gardens are nice, relaxing.

this green area is full of many trees and plants indigenous to the country. it is well laid out and maintained. the tropical greenhouses were good but not spectacular for being in such a tropical climate. the orchid house was on the small size for such a botanical garden. free entry for seniors.

This is an Amazing place to visit, when you go there, it sits down and surrounded by trees and you do not even know or feel like you are in a huge city like Bogota of 8 mil persons. They have so many plants and greenhouses, so much to see, it is a wonderful place to visit, worthwhile and a... More
