Bogota Bike tours are an excellent and safe way to see the city. Bike paths are everywhere and the city is on a grid so its easy to get around.

Start off early and go around the city. End at the Parque Simon Bolivar and get some food on a stick and people watch.

The Ciclovia is easily the best part of visiting Bogota. It only happens on Sundays and holidays to be sure to accommodate it for your travels! Every Sunday, many of the major roads in Bogota close to cars and buses and instead fill with people biking, roller skating or jogging. Vendors pop up all along the way to offer snacks,... More

The Bogota's Ciclovia, open from 7 am until about 2 pm every Sunday, is a real treat. I mean, its 74 miles (120 km) of car-free bliss to walk, run or bike to your heart's content. As a big plus, you are going to enjoy the sweet sight of thousands of beautiful Colombian women happily passing by in shorts, tights... More

Bogota's ciclovias are one of the most progressive concepts in urban living. Every weekend, major thoroughfares close to vehicular traffic and yield space to pedestrians, cyclists, dog walkers, joggers, babies in strollers, and hand-holding lovers. It is great to walk for kilometers on end without any worry about cars. Ciclovias let people reclaim roads in traffic-crazed Bogota, albeit briefly for... More

We had planned on renting bikes and participating in Ciclovia, but instead we walked around and enjoyed the "event." What a great concept! We took in the sights (and peacefulness) of the bikers, walkers, dog-walkers, etc. Lots of street vendors too, so we enjoyed some delicious fresh fruits. Wish they had this in most major cities in the US!

I won't lie and say that I have ridden a bicycle when the streets are closed down on Sundays creating the ciclovia, but I must admit that it goes to show that Bogota is a city where health matters. Its nice to see families with little ones riding their bikes and roller blading. Great to see.

I wish more cities had this. On Sundays and other special occasions the city closes some major thoroughfares so people can bike safely. It is so much fun! And, so well organized. Plenty of places to stop for repairs if needed, drink and food. It is a great way to know the city.

Seemed really strange to see a major road in a city full of cyclists, walkers, joggers and dog walkers but with the street vendors and everyone in sports clothing it is fantastic fun.

Whether you visit the city for business or just for fun, you definitely have to go to the Ciclovia, it's not about riding a bike I think that is some show of support to this cultural cause, that it's now a tradition! Good for bogota!
