There are something like 150km of Bogotá to be authentically explored on a Sunday or holiday 7am - 2pm.... Don't miss. Hit the Parque Bolivar or just go roaming around.
I`ve been in bogota for two month and this is the best plan for Sunday, ride and enjoy the sport for the carrera 15. I recommend this experience. so take your bicycle and enjoy the trip inside the city.
What better way to enjoy Bogota and it's people than this? It is safe. You can walk, bike, run, roller blade, whatever you like. Bring some cash for a water or fresh fruit. Also, if you are a visitor and don't have a bike, you can rent a bike. Only on Sundays. Plan a good exercise and fun adventure.
This is a fun activity that's also good exercise. Major city streets are closed to accommodate pedestrians, roller bladers, and bike riders. You see people of all ages participating, no matter what their level of physical conditioning. It's a friendly activity and a great way to see the city. You go at your own pace, stop for a coffee, or... More
Sunday was my first day in Bogota. Ciclovia gave me an excellent intro to the city. It's great to go up to Usaquen on a Sunday for the flea market. Try to head up there for brunch. Ciclovia ends at 2pm, at which point negotiating the city streets becomes a little more tricky. Zona Rosa is great to ride through.... More
Bogota changes its dynamics during Ciclovia times, scheduled on Sundays, and sometimes during some days of the year. There is a move to try and give this movement a different conception: "my way is Biking" to makle a clear shift and show most people who is still do not see the benefits of new urban ways.
This sunday bicycle via blocks all traffic in the morning, I personally don't like it because I was driving and was prohibited to go nowhere, but people there seems to be happy with it.
A must do on Sunday for all casual bicycle riders. There are many locations that rent bicycles for less than $15 for four hours. Just be aware the event ends at 2:00 pm. Perfect timing to return to the hotel for a shower and nice dinner.
