Awesome to see so many carreras y calles closed motorists - brimming with walkers, runners, cyclists, skaters, and so on. It's beautiful! Such a warm feeling in the parts of the city that are included in the route.

The traffic and air quality in Bogota are both bad so shutting the streets on Sunday for walking, biking and whatever is a great idea. We took a stroll around the Park 93 neighborhood and figured out the route of the street closings it was fun and great introduction to the city.

A fantastic idea (about 20 years old) to close the main streets to traffic on Sunday and let people cycle or walk around the centre. Great day for cycle tours - the graffiti tour is highly recommended! The city centre changes totally - no traffic noise or fumes - it simply becomes a friendlier place for walking around.

Take advantage every Sunday in Bogotá to exercise and ride in the ciclovía when they close many streets in Bogotá between 7 am and 2 pm. I rented a bicycle from Bogotravel tours in the heart of La Candelaria (the historic part of Bogotá) for $25,000 COP (about $13) for 4 hours. Bogotravel tours will give you a map and... More

Take a bike and get to know Bogotá and its people in a efficient way. I like the Ciclovia of the Av 7a. You can go to la Candelaria. A lot of people and music. Never take the eyes from your bikes...if you do count with the fact that they will dissapear.

Bogota Bike tours are an excellent and safe way to see the city. Bike paths are everywhere and the city is on a grid so its easy to get around.

Start off early and go around the city. End at the Parque Simon Bolivar and get some food on a stick and people watch.

The Ciclovia is easily the best part of visiting Bogota. It only happens on Sundays and holidays to be sure to accommodate it for your travels! Every Sunday, many of the major roads in Bogota close to cars and buses and instead fill with people biking, roller skating or jogging. Vendors pop up all along the way to offer snacks,... More

The Bogota's Ciclovia, open from 7 am until about 2 pm every Sunday, is a real treat. I mean, its 74 miles (120 km) of car-free bliss to walk, run or bike to your heart's content. As a big plus, you are going to enjoy the sweet sight of thousands of beautiful Colombian women happily passing by in shorts, tights... More
