Wonderfully picturesque cobbled street in La Paz with some tempting-looking restaurants. Visited early afternoon and we were the only tourists there. Would like to have visited the museums but we still had a lot of the city to see. More

As my husband says, "forget about the street and go straight to Marka Tambo!" Marka Tambo is a pena (a gathering where people enjoy live folk music and other artistic customs). The highlight of this pena is Pepe Murillo, a singer and guitarist who must be the Bolivian reincarnation of Elvis. When we went, he spent more than two hours... More

It was a rainy day and I certainly don't consider myself the museum type. We were recommended to check out the street as it had museums and old architecture and cobblestone streets etc....we lost our map at our lunch stop but remembered how to get there. Popped in to the info desk there to grab a map but it was... More

This is a really cool street with a ton of museums. There's a good Pena (a bar with traditional dance and music) there and Etno bar is definitely worth a check for a quiet evening with a couple of drinks. The pena is free to enter and it's not too overpriced, and certainly worth it. Really pretty street, and definitely... More

We went on a Sunday - and the best thing was that there were only 3 other people in the street! We visited the Music museum (fantastic at 5 BS pp) as well as the triplet of the 'museo costumbrista, museo oro and the house of Don Murillo' (also fantastic at 4 BS pp. The only museum not open was... This is an amazingly photogenic street and has some museums on it. Unfortunately we went on a Sunday and everything on it was closed, but we got some amazing photos and a lovely view of La Paz as it was two hundred years ago. Well worth the uphill walk! More

This is a narrow cobbled street with well preserved colonial houses with wooden balconies, red-tiled roofs and carved stone doorways opening onto quiet courtyards. The buildings had become very rundown but have now been restored and newly painted. Many are now museums. These were shut when we visited so we just walked down the street and looked into the courtyards.... More
