Yatches and sea lions

The port has an amazing selection of boats and yatches, but what stroke me most was a couple of sea lions sleeping on the dock.

Its a fancy place to spend some hour walking around boats and yachts, feeling the gentle cold breeze of souther Uruguay, and the sea spray Nice place, nice hardwares on there, but nothing you can call touristic, except you are a boat lover

You will inevitable end up in the port area if you spend any time in PDE, and that is both because of it's location and that it is just a really nice area. There are some great restaurants over here that overlook the water and it is a great area for an evening stroll. Easy to see the yachts as... More

We took a historical tour of Punta del Este by bike and it was very enjoyable. The owner, Alicia, loved her city and conveyed that in the few hours it took to tour the town.

Its an overall fun place to visit. This is were you go to take a boat ride to Isla Gorriti or Isla de Lobos, to get fresh fish, to watch the sea lions or just walk the port and see the big yachts.

Punta del Este was a port of call during our Around the Horn cruise of South America. We opted to rent a car for the day. We rented a car online via Thrifty prior to leaving for the cruise at a rate of about $42.00 for the day. We noticed many car rentals at or near the bus station near... More

I can´t imagine why people flock to this sterile town. The port is small and has some classy yachts but is otherwise charmless. Yes, you get dunes and a long coastline around the harbor but there are plenty of places around the world where you can see better.

Loved the atmosphere. In March there are very few tourists. Today, I disliked the rain. But still it is worth visiting.
