Driving up the Mount Qassioun for the city view, day or night, is a must. It gets really crowded and noisy at night and on weekends. The place is very basic with little (if none) services. People go there for the view and to simply hang out. Afternoons and nights are more likely to be active with more cars passing... More

without any exaggerations the view from Qassion is triple times better than the view from the Eiffel Tower. Without any doubt you can't miss this extra-ordinary view. I highly recommend

The short drive up to the top of Mt. Qassioun is fun and the road is very new and wide!! The approach to the top you start to view the beautiful areas to the South of the city of Damascus. Now in the winter time Mt. Herman has a nice topping of snow!! Once you get to the top there... More

VERY cold in the winter and chilled most of the summer. Too busy during the weekend, syrians from all levels of society go there each once in a while. restaurants with budgets suitable for everyone are there. tea/coffee/hot chocolate makers walk around looking for costumers you can run into a Polaroid photographer too that will offer to take your picture... i went there very early in the morning, it was empty of people, the air was so refreshing, and the view was amazing just avoid it when it's crowded you don't want the loud music and car fumes to ruin the experience so go either very late at night or very early in the morning

I think the best that you can do is to buy a shawarma in the city center, go to the top by car and see the amazing view and eat an ABSOLUTELY delicious shawarma (kebab) during the sunset. I did the same a year ago when i was there and it was so exciting! But i agree that there are... More
