Excellent place to go to educate yourself on the history of this country...there is a small trailer with artifacts found on the archeological site...the camel ride is fun...very hot area, but the beach is close, so go for a swim after the tour...now don't expect "the pyramids of Egypt" or "Teotihuacan from Mexico" just keep an open mind about it...

This fort bears little detail and its age seems questionable. You'd be scraping the bottom of barrel if you spend more than 5 minutes here.

There's not much to do or see here but worth the stop for visitors with deep interest in the local culture and history. Just don't get your hopes up too much.

never found it open. seems to be in repair. it is close to Souq Waqif, but there was no way of getting in, neither in the afternoon or at night. No note, no explanation.

Compared to other forts in the region (Bahrain for example), Doha Fort doesn't seem like too much from the outside. It is pretty much surrounded by Souk Waqaf and there is construction going on right up to the walls of it. There is a door facing the souk, but it looks closed as in hasn't been open for some time.... More
