As others have posted this is a large construction site at the moment. Supposed to reopen 2015 it certainly should be a Doha highlight when it does. It is not far from Souq Waqif and the construction can be seen from the Souk. The National Museum is also a stop on the Doha Hop On/Off bus.

I do not understand how a construction site can be considered a high-ranking attraction. This is bizarre. A reasonable course of action would be to delete this form the list of 'attractions'

Not open yet. Rather futuristic looking building which is still a lnog way from beg opened. I was disappointed is not open, as it was listed as one of the DohaBus stopshing to see, the bus did not stop, and we got a view of the future site and building while driving by it.

The museum is currently closed for a major overhaul and is due to reopen at the end of 2014. The reviews below are for the Museum of Islamic Art on the Corniche, and the photo is of Doha's islamic cultural centre which is next to Souk Waqif.

A must see place I was really amazed by the collection of this museum; gives a good taste and understanding of Muslims culture at this region. There are too many impressive and precious historical artifacts. The building has a traditional architecture, which I found very beautiful and complement the museum; the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A very interesting... More

This has changed since I was a kid. However, it is now even better. A must see place. There is a great deal of history and tradition in this place, it gives you an idea of what sea life is in the seas too. The good and dangerous too.
