The Muttrah Souk is in the heart of the Muttrah neighborhood of Muscat and is a must do. The Souk sits right across the corniche from the harbor. The Souk is a combination of tourist and local. There are numerous vendors selling India pashminas. But the silver stores offer numerous examples of Omani silverware. More on our time in Muscat:... more

Although it says old - parts are very modern...expect to bargain even with the signwriters (very interesting to get done and really speak to the stallholders - get some local knowledge and extra value if you buy!) Quite touristy and also lather up with insect repellent - got bitten to death from the sandy floor! more
