An overwhelming view! Incredible that the Romans could build it with no modern technologies! How did they put all of those few-hundred-ton-heavy blockes in order? You can explore their methods watching the exhibition at the end of your walk across Heliopolis (Baalbek Temples). And the surroundings are in progress. Baalbek is waiting for more tourists, but it seems recently abandoned... More

It is hard for me to find the words to adequately describe this awesome site and the feelings I got while walking through these remnants of the past. All I can say is it is one of the highlights of my life to have been fortunate enough to see and experience it. You must do it for yourself if ever... More

This famous historical place is much more interesting and more attractive than Athens. The monuments are grandiose. You can spend easily at least 3 hours there without getting bored. No wonder why Fairouz chose Baalbeck for her concerts! You must visit this place!!!

Amazing ruins in great condition. We were there late winter mid week so almost had the place to ourselves.

Awesome ruins and the scale of it was impressive. It was surreal watching the flare and reports of constant gunfire all around the towns, especially from the Temple of Jupiter. Also the speakers playing Hezbollah music added to the crazy atmosphere at the time.

We've seen archeological sites in many countries around the world but this ranks among the very best. The enormity of the whole site combined with the massive temple still largely intact leaves you speechless. Plan on spending several hours and even this won't be enough.

Colossal structure of Roman temple build on even more more ancient base (who knows who built it...). Absolute must see attraction! Enjoy it over a bottle of Lebanese wine. Yum!

I am so glad that we took the day trip out of Beirut to see Baalbeck. The ruins are incredible, especially the temple of Jupiter, the largest of its kind in the world and the temple of Bacchus with its intricate carvings. We paid for a guide to show us around and I would highly recommend this. Our guide was... More
