When you say Hamra St., you are talking about modern luxury, fine dining, good shopping. This was back in the days, even though Hamra is pretty much still a major reference in Beirut for any visitor. A must stop.

Hamra street is one of the most famous streets in Beirut. It's full of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. It's probably a great place to spend your afternoons.

Used to be the no1 place to go for drinks but it calmed down a little as other areas were developed. Still is home to fun bars packed with people. Relaxed environment. International.

Hamra street is buzzy and full of cafés, restaurants and shops. It´s not as luxurious and pricy as downtown but still not cheap. The traffic is heavy and noisy so there is hard to find a quiet café if you want to take a break. In the evening you find a lot of bars in the area.

Great shopping place with nice places to dine and drink also the cafes there are comfort and enjoyable. There are a lot of brands if you are a brand name shopper and there are also multiple local brands and other varieties based of your budget, all banks from all over the world are located there like more than 15 different... A good introduction to the hussle and bussle of the city but the area is losing its charm as more chain stores and restaurants detract from the originality of the area.

It's a cosmopolitan place alright and I enjoyed sitting here watching the street over a coffee after visiting the soul-less, new souks. But it is like any other cafe street around the world, though given the State Department travel warning on Lebanon I was surprised at the number of American accents overheard in the street. I wouldn't rush to visit... More

Quite frankly I had heard so much about the Hamra Street that i found it to be a let down. The main Hamra street has only 5-6 proper restaurants though it has tons of cafe (starbucks, caribou, costa, coffee bean & tea leaf, dunkin donuts & other local cafes). No pubs that really stood out. Apart from this there are... More
