Has a great selection of stores and places to eat in very short distance. Traffic is a problem at all times, and a bit noisy in the evening, but worth the time to see all the interesting places.

Alot of local shops and different kind of people mingeling to do their daily chores. My tip is to find a nice place to sit at the various coffee bars and soak in the feeling of Beirut. And of course the peoplewatching aspect was a treat. Its great to see the mix of cultures and people.

The place its full of nice restaurants and major coffee shop and fast food franchises, as well as nice bars and shops, but its too crowded , and a lot of people begging for money in the streets and sidewalks, some of them follow you for an entire walk and it gets a little uncomfortable, specially if its your first... This place is one of the most happening in Beirut. Its always crowded and its fun to be here. Lots of restaurants, shops and occasionally there is street festivals. Enjoy your stay anywhere close to this place to have a lively feeling. :)

Hamra Street was the one to visit in the past if you are in Beirut. Turbulence in the region affected the Hamra area for a while. Now Hamra Street had recovered and back to its glory days. Traffic is heavy so give more time for your journey. It is a lovely area and definitely you would love it.

Hamra Street could be nice. But the traffic is a killer. Also, there are no shops make it worth to go there. Accept the Costa Coffee. Ever occurring problem is a parking place. It's just not the place to visit on your Saturday afternoon. The shops are not that fashionable. It just isn't. The only nice thing is Sunday morning... More
