Best area in Ras Beirut for young people who want a simple life, nothing too fancy. Rent is very very expensive but definitely worth it as Hamra is one of the most alive areas in the capital as it is surrounded from both sides by two major universities. I love everything about it. Tons of things to do: shopping, restaurants,... More

Hamra street is a busy and bustling area of Beirut. The wide variety of food outlets, boutiques, cafes, hotels and banks cater to any and every whim you may have. Just walk down the avenue to take in the sights. It is a unique experience where East meets West. I have traversed this street dozens of times, and there is... More

We love this little part of Beirut. Lots of shops to walk through, but for us, we enjoyed most the local restaurants and cafes. Lots of outdoor patios to sit at, smoke shisha and drink tea or have other drinks. Be warned of the beggars on the street as some of them can be extremely pushy and aggressive.

I spent a lot of my 3 day stay in Beirut on Hamra Street. The people that I met here were amazing and wonderful to speak too. The bars and restaurant where all amazing, I sort of meandered down this street and went into any bar or restaurant that caught my eye and I was not once disappointed! I had... More

Quite a nice and busy place. A variety of cafes and restaurants are on that street and a lot of them are good. Not the best shopping spot in lebanon. Actually, very bad shopping option. It's worst during rush hours. Walking would be a better option during that time.

Hamra street was not like that at all before!! The shops have nothing good to show.. it's crowded and noisy.. The only good thing was a shawerma place called "abo wassem" .. I went to eat there 3 days on a row. . It's almost at the end of hamra street..

Hamra Street is truly a street with endless possibilities; it has a great variety of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, pastry shops, and many small eateries for take out foods. The range of shops of from the very exclusive to the very modest shops, where good bargains can be found.
