Like many Beirut ruins, a bit of a walk by with little interpretation

This was awesome to see, even if you are driving by in a cab. Completely exposed, no interpretation, I suggest visiting and then going home to research.

We enjoyed the Beirut Hippodrome last Sunday ... a great sunny Sunday at the beginning of December. Horse racing took place already since around 13h30, we arrived a bit later but in time for the second or third race. Okay, it is not Ascot - hardly any ladies with great hats here, but lot's of elderly taxi drivers with a... More

Usually am not so fun with horses or anything related to including Hippodrome . . but this one (Beirut Hippodrome) is so different . . I really like it it is more like a park that you can spend the time there wondering and enjoying looking to even you you was like (zero interest in horses)

It's one of rare green area in Beirut. Nice location ... you will meet lots of taxi drivers who spend their money on gambling :-)

Nice place if you want to see some races but nothing fancy about it. Just like any other Hippodrome.

I think that this was a nice and entertaining place that lost much after the war. I was at exhibition and market there, and I enjoyed it.

The Beirut Hippodrome has horse races every Sunday - head upstairs for a late lunch, a few drinks and bets on theTote. The Favorite does not always win! Enjoy the sport of millionaires for the price of a couple of drinks!
