A great place to get your wander on. Check out one of the nut shops. Delicious! Also good for cheap backpacks and household stuff.

This place is so interesting, there is so much to see! And buy! It's very safe and we had the most delicious tea and cheese platter at a small stall somewhere in there.

This is an unique heritage place of Kuwait. It is unique in the sense that the whole area is located with variety of shops lined up in lanes & selling all types of grocery items, clothes, gold, etc. It is worth a round just to capture ethnic touch of the city.

Kuwait is a great place to get gold on the cheap. Every souq has a gold center, and you should definitely check them out. But make sure you get counter-offers from other store before you buy. [I was cheated out of $2000 by a jewer in Kuwait, called Big Easy in Fahaheel, after they destroyed my USA designer engagement ring.]

I have gone many times. Each time I see something different. There are so many shops and choices. Bathroom options are limited. Your best option is to go to a local chain restaurant or go to the Souk, then stop somewhere for lunch and go to the bathroom there.

I was taken to the souq by my son and daughter in law, who live in Kuwait. It was quite an experience - similar in some respects to the souq in Cairo, but less intimidating. A curious mix of fabrics, fresh fruit and veg, and the occasional butcher. I was blown away by the number of beautiful and intricate shawls... More

Make certain you allow a lot of time for the souq complex in downtown Kuwait. It is a maze of interconnecting markets offering food, carpets, spices, antiques, clothing, fabrics of all tyoes, gold and bric-brac. Each trip to the souq is a new adventure with new shops to discover and fun sights. Come with a variety of bills so that... More

Really loved to visit Almubarakiya Soukh, there you can have a face to face with Kuwait s traditions. Beautiful dresses, spices, gold shops, embroidered items, souvenirs, good food and lot of hospitality.

Buy some scarves or copious amounts of candy. It was interesting for me, as a Western woman, to see women in the full niqab waiting in line for a coke at the snack bar. Worth a visit.

Stopped at the Old Souq last week and found the selections to be fascinating. You can purchase fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, spices and nearly anything you may need or want for yourself or your home. I picked up some reasonable priced shawls from the Al-Moebba & Salam Gifts and Novelties, and the owners were delightfully helpful and kind. And I... More
