One of the last places to get a feeling for the invasion

We were there during the closing time after noon, but they opened up only for us and gave us a private tour. It shows the Iraq invasion with different illuminated displays which... read more

Nice displays, authentic antique pieces, no-one hovering around to rush you through so a person can take all the time she wants.

Here are the positives: They greeted us with coffee in a waiting area before we entered the museum. The museum explains the history of Kuwait and their history with Iraq. It goes in-depth into the war and has an area for each coalition force to thank them for helping liberate Kuwait from the Iraqi invaders. Negative: Needs improvement in the... More

We sat and had tea before we walked through the museum. Got to see part of the statue of saddam that was torn down in Iraq, some of his stuff was also there.

This was a fascinating museum, really brings to life the horrors of the Iraqi invasion but also gives a nice potted history of Kuwait before that. Brilliant guide, fluent in English, very knowledgeable and passionate about the museum. Highly recommend it. But a word of warning: it is not where the map on this website says it is. Correct address... More

This museum focuses on the modern history of Kuwait with emphasis on its struggle against the invasion by Saddam Hussein from a Kuwaiti perspective. There is a very good diorama that takes about 10 minutes to walk you through the history of Kuwait. It is narrated in English and very easy to understand. Over half the time for the diorama... More

We were there during the closing time after noon, but they opened up only for us and gave us a private tour. It shows the Iraq invasion with different illuminated displays which really give you an idea how it must have been back in 1990. It's not only about the short war, but also works as a general reminder of... More

Followed the directions per their website & encountered a construction site. I don't think this is around any more!

KHNWM does a valuable job and is of national importance. The welcome one gets is always warm and helpful. I wish, dearly wish there was more care taken with the maintenance of the museum and it is high time the diorama display was rethought and redone. Great concept but wish more work went in to the displays, especially given the... More

If you're a student of modern history, and remember Operation Desert Storm and the liberation of Kuwait and the repelling of the Iraqi Revolutionary Guards from the country, it's worth a visit. In my opinion, although the museum gives some credit to the U.S. and the western powers for the liberation of this little emirate floating atop an ocean of... More
