Nice place to wander through if you wish to shop, but be warned its very noisy (even on a Monday night) and if you do not like people shoving things in your face or trying to get you into a shop to buy things then this place is not for you , you can buy almost anything here.

Went for a walk late one night before our 2am flight back home, strolled around the back alley markets and took in the scenery. Lots of shops, restaurants and beautiful buildings to see. Crazy to think years ago the water line came right up to there and it was a busy port.

Impossible to park nearby so don't waste your time and come by walk. Many shops with traditional shops, shop keepers call you to buy. Many gift shops, T-Shirts with Bahrain flag, medals, postcards and many others. Showaiter halwa is very famous and you should try and buy. Mattay also. Don't forget to bargain.

Went with some friends and co-workers to shop for some gold. You can get 18K, 21K, and 22K gold jewelery at the Bab el-Bahrain Souk. Additionally, you can find scarfs, spices, treats, and other artwork in the area. This is one of those places that you want 'to shop until you drop'.

It's not like a traditional souk as in Marocco but also very interesting with all those little street.....you ca n easily be lost! But you really had to explore this place and take a least few hours (for women!!) to see all the treasure of Bab al bahrain!

I've been to many Souks around the middle east and they are all similar at the core. I enjoyed the different types of stores in Souk Bab el-Bahrain and the fact that some of them seemed geared towards locals, not sure tourists. I also liked that there was a selection of higher end goods inside the mall in the middle... More

Old city. The "mall" is nothing however the streets outside remind you of old Makkah or Dubai. Great for bargain hunting if that's what you looking for. Waste of time if you going sight seeing
