Nice and quite large souk to visit in the evening, but parking is a challenge. Great to walk around and see all these colourful souvenir shops where obviously you need to negotiate if you don't want to be overcharged. Few nice cafes and snacks for a casual meal break. It is missing a museum in the vicinity as it is... More

The souq is probably the best place for souvenir shopping. However, you will be charged according to your European appearance. Be merciless in your bartering and don't feel pressured into buying something just because you paused. I often feel as though I have no freedom to browse because of this. I like to linger at the stalls and make purchases... More

A lot bigger than expected, with many choices and very friendly merchants. It was fun walking through the small shops, I felt very safe and everyone spoke English.

Divya is a great textiles shop near the souk. The cloth is of great quality and the staff are very nice. However, the shop isn't very clean and it is impossible to get parking. Overall I think that it is a great place to go if you want to get some cloth. I would highly recommend it, but only if... More

We walk around the whole souk and did not buy anything except for a coffee in the Bab Mall near the entrance. If you are looking for jewelry such as gold and pearls this place will be for you. Otherwise, your options would be candy, fabric, clothing, cheap toys, spices (that may not get past customs) watches, juice, and some... More

I visited it at 1pm and the temperature is very high but the experience in seeing those amounts of shops with very cheap prices is great. Try to visit early morning so the weather will be better also no crowding. Try to go there by Taxi not by your own car because the parking are is very limited.

Any tourist in Manama, Bahrain should visit the souk for a first hand immersion. The souk is a melting pot of products and trade...the gold souk showcases a variety of gold/jewelry while outside the building, there is a limitless selection of modern and traditional products to choose from. I particularly love the textiles! Shop till you drop! ;)

Any tourist or traveler must visit this special place in Bahrain with its historic heritage, where you can get anything that would cross your mind, whether it's clothes, textiles, jewellery, watches, eastern perfumes, Antiques and many more. Some would see it as a bazaar-like place with Indian vendors hovering all over the Souk. There is a renovated part which combines... More
