This is pleasant place to spend an hour or two and maybe pick some things. In the evening, it is crowded but feels safe and reasonably clean. I should safe although I was the only American or Euopean I saw until I was leaving. I should add I am a tall man; I am not sure if I would have... More

I would say they have lots of cool things to buy and they are all discounted. If they aren't, you can haggle with them and get it for what you want. Remember one thing, the more you buy the cheap it is. I bought some cool salt and pepper shakers for 1.5 BD each. They wanted 3 for one set... More

You must go in the evening for many reasons: First it is cooler, second more shops are open and finally it is alive! The vendors/hawkers will kindly try to escort you into their shops for genuine counterfeit watches (with guarantees). There are several sections - clothing for custom made shirts/suits and burkas. I love going to the spice section to... More

If you don't do anything else in Bahrain you must go to the Souk. Think of it as a flea market. I suggest going during the day and pay close attention to where you park. The Souk is a lot of criss crossing narrow alley ways with shops all around. (Spices, clothing, luggage, sweets, blankets). Don't forget to check out... More

Good place to find souvenir items and there are also some interesting restaurants around. It's an old and historic area.

If you like shopping and bargaining for the goods and have never experienced going to a souk, then this is a place for you. I wasn't imoressed and preferred the malls. But then again I live in Kuwait and go to the souks there.

This was near our hotel, and we found a laundry and Pharmacy, as well as grocery needs. the souk was pleasant and quite an experience. Do it for the experience. Gold souk is nearby and intersecting, if that is your taste.

Wandering around the Souk is an interesting experience, there are so many different shops from phones to textiles all at great prices, but beware of the fakes! A friendly shop keeper is in every door trying to tempt you in for the visitors prayer clock or Rolex!! But there are bargains to be had.
