Great for people watching, it is easy to get lost wandering the streets around the souq where you can find a wide variety of shops, cafes, etc. all with a local flair. If you want to buy something, be prepared to barter.

Its the old part of town with its narrow streets and scary uneven footpaths , crazy cramped driving and if you have a big car and get stuck going the wrong way , it could be hell. But thats part of the fun . I got stuck once in a crowd and was unsure if it was a protest or... More

Beautiful traditional souq with a variety of options for visitors to Bahrain. A Gulf art exhibition was going on and it was interesting.

Located in the centre of town a nice mix of shops including old and new and from a range of origins. Good tailoring, perfumes, local gifts. For the most part friendly shops and shop keepers. You should check opening times and avoid taking a car as limited parking or ability to move actually within the Souk. Better to park in... More

I/d read some reviews here where people were a bit disappointed in the Souk. Its my guess they stayed in the main building. If you venture out the back you will very quickly find yourself in the heart of a traditional shopping district. Its complete with the myriad of tiny stores, locals buying goods, tiny coffee shops and the aggressive shop... More

This traditional market is a landmark. You have to visit it at least once. Very interesting shops that you can enjoy.
