I was there last month, during a Friday, so the Museum was closed, no guided tour available and very few visitors. I spent an hour and a half on the site, alone in the silence of the old stones and when the call to prayer from all surrounding minarets cut the silence, this added a special charm to my visit. More

Really a fine piece of preserving centuries old momument. The lights in the evenin adorn the monument beautifully. The next door museum is also a piece of fine minimilastic architecture with well showcased artifacts and explanations. Makes for a wonderful trip for the sunset. And also as a place to jog around. The Bahrain Fort is a very well preserved Fort where on the outside they are still conducting archeological research. The views from the Fort are amazing and it's a nice place to visit More

I don't know if it made a difference because we had a well-informed tour guide but this was really interesting, we got there about 4pm so it was really comfortable to take a slow walk round and get a real sense of the long history of the place. Recommended. More
