We have recently moved to Bahrain and were lucky enough to view the Grand Mosque on one of their 'open days' for the public (over Eid in December). I recently moved to Bahrain with my wife and visited the mosque last weekend for the tour - we have done similar in other countries. You have to use a guide but as a non muslim you can go anytime outside prayer time. Quite beautiful inside with the most amazing light fittings! The marble is from Italy and carpet from... more
