Big picture: What none of the photos of Al Dar show you is that the (very small) island is smack bang in the middle of an industrial bay. This means in three directions you have wonderful industrial vistas including storage tanks, massive refineries and the like. Timing: I reckon timing is everything with Al Dar. The wind was up (but... More

We had a lovely night on Al Dar. We booked out all the chalets and it was very reasonably priced split between all of our friends. There are various trips which run from the island too, such as fishing and dolphin watching!

The beach is fine but there are to many jet skis making noise.I like to go there once a year with the kids but it's not what you expect. There aren't any nice beaches in Bahrain. What a shame!

I went there with my husband on Labor Day. For start the sight was amazing but the beach is full of sharp rocks I accidentally step on one which made my foot soak in blood. After calling the reception 3 times a guy came with a first aid kit and fixed my leg. I didn't wanna spoil the day so... More

We did visit the location with family and friends. A short save trip via boat and you are on an island within a very short distance from Manama. We did miss a slide into the water a bit but enjoyed the day outside.

First review I did for Al Dar, but we go quite often to escape the little island for an even littler one. We snorkel. Not many fish, but always something. We eat....basic food, but we don't go hungry (Tip: grilled vegetables salad is fantastic). Service is good; see Sarah for details. We drink, beer is pricy but tasty for when... More

My family and I visited the island. Really great setup but as some guests mentioned before, for an excellent stay it need major touches: A a start The sea taxi should be free for guests staying in the chalets. 1- more comfortable bed. We found the bed very painful.(COULDNT SLEEP) The kids sofa bed. Which was not a sofa more... More

This is a day trip. The beaches are great, food was delicious. As well as the cold mixed drinks and beers. We took our mask & snorkel with us. Clear water, also chalet's to rent for a night or weekend. Highly recommend.

Does not have a dedicated area where women and foreigners Ataron in front of us and in front of children., As well as where there is alcohol and the amounts offered to go to this island exaggerated because we are citizens.

My husband and I went to Al Dar in mid-December for a night to stay in one of the chalets. We enjoyed the short boat ride to the island and the driver is very knowledgeable about the local marine life. The island is quiet which is lovely, but be prepared to entertain yourselves as there isn't many options for things... More
