I went here with my kids. The island is well located in the middle of the sea. One has to book in advance the tickets to enter the island at the port. To book the chalets, the waiting time would be a month or so. The food is awesome and it is located at a quiet place with no traffic... More

We visited this island during a short trip to Baharain from Kuwait. Access to this island is from Fishermans port , Sitra, by boat drive around 15 minutes. We spent around 4 hours from 12: pm 4:30!pm. Children enjoyed in kayaking. There is fascilty for jet skiing, but permitted for 18+. Ticket to the island is 3 BD for adults.... More

Stayed one night in a 2 bed chalet with a toddler. Not much to do especially since it was too cold to swim but staff and very friendly. Chalet was large and spacious but not as clean as it could be. Food was not bad, a little overpriced but mixed grills were good. I recommend making a day trip with... More

Al Dar islands is a very good place for site for a day's picnic with Yorkshire friends or family. The seaside view gives a very good look. It is better if you stay there till the evening as you can see the sunset. Watching the sunset is the best thing. One thing is that the tickets and the food is... More

I travelled there with a few friends and we hired out one of the beach huts. It was nice but the price system, charging per person and per bag seemed a little suspect. The staff were friendly but didn't appear to want to help too much or provide any extra service. The water by the beach is fine for swimming... More

This place is overrated. The sea isn't clean and the beach wasn't clean either. Better beaches can be found in Bahrain.

One can reach sitra port by road. On the port office, one would be required to buy tickets and submit the passport. They have good ferries plying from port to the island. On full moon nights the party organised is great. Although drinks are priced slightly higher.

We wanted to visit the island at the sunset but the waiting time to board the boat was about one hour during the Eid holidays. Therefore, plan well in advance and be prepared for long waiting queue during peak seasons. I would strongly advice not to visit during night, there is nothing to enjoy as far as the sea is... More

Clear water with coral reefs and fish easily visible. Speed boat ride from Sitra fisherman port to the island is quite fascinating. Jet rides , kayak style boats are available. There is Dolphin attraction but only at certain time of the day (@ 11:00 - 13:30 hrs.Need to check on phone) Need to post more signages. Overall good place to... More
