If you do manage to get to Riyadh with some time to spare, the museum is a really enjoyable visit. Very modern and well done, with more of an objective emphasis on science and culture than expected. Thoroughy enjoyed visiting and learning about Saudi culture!

An important place not to miss if you live in Riyadh. Museum has good audio visual theatres to give an overview of the history. There is a real theatre with seats and feel you watched a historic film in Riyadh.

The National Museum is a very large cultural centre with an effective description of Saudi Arabia and the arabic culture from ancient times to these days.

NIce building with wide open spaces. The exhibits are limited but supplemented by audiovisual. Couple of nice pieces like the walk before entering the second floor, the setups for the Arabic Jahilya poems known as Muallakat (although the Prints could have been done better) and the coins. They have some of the first Moslem coins ever forged dating back to... More

Beautiful space, very uncrowded, gives a wonderful history of Saudi Arabia from the beginning of time up until the present, with many artifacts and dioramas.

First, it is huge, but, it is also one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It's laid out with passion, beauty and art-oh, yeah, and then there's the stuff to see that is also well done. I wish I had more time.

A bit of history, but not terribly impressive, however, it is the only museum in town and is nice way to pass a few hours.
