Special about Jerash: - full sized hippodrome, where You can see roman chariots racing - two theatres - big and small one - both... more

A reasonably large but quite accessible set of ruins. It has a theatre and at least three churches and has great examples of different types of architecture - a must for any classicist. I recently took a group of new expatriates to visit Jerash, having been a few times myself. However, on this trip, we purchased tickets to watch a show regarding Roman history, featuring soldiers, chariots, etc. It was excellent - the speaker was fantasic and entertaining, yet professional. The show lasted approx. 45 minutes - very entertaining. Well worth the money.... more
