This attraction has stopped. While you can walk around the track there is no longer a show - even if the board says otherwise

We visited the Roman ruins at Jerash the end of April 2014, but the chariot races and gladiator re-enactments are not operating. Weeds were growing in the hippodrome area and there was no sign any performances had happened there in months (or years?). We checked the website before we went and it clearly says there are 2 performances a day,... More

email the organiser to tell you when it's on. sadly due to syria putting off tourists (the place is very safe I assure you) it's not on as much as it should be.

Fabulous show that I would recommend you see, it's only a few pounds and a shame to miss it. Take a hat and water as the arena has no shade.

Was back in Jerash yesterday and was surprised to find that the live experience is back running. It seems that it's really hit and miss as to whether it's on or not. We were told that there would only be the one show at 11am not the normal 2 shows that run but there's no indication as to what days... More

On the 21.2.14 a Friday we were in Jerash to see the ruins, however much to our delight we were told that the first show of this holiday season was about to start. My wife and I paid 12 JD each and the show was fantastic. A talk on how the legion was formed and served in Jerash. A tactical... More

Thanks to Tripadvisor, we didn't rush to Jerash to see the RACE. We did arrive at 1:30 and that would have been enough time to park, enter, and get to a 2pm RACE yet it didn't happen. Note that we were there on Monday, Dec 30 (the day that the last reviewer was told that would be the next show.)... More

W went to Jerash specifically for this and chose the day accordingly. We were told because of tourist numbers that it was not on that day, after initially being told it was and the later in the day told it only happens once a week now, on Mondays. This is said to be caused by low tourist numbers as the... More

We were there in early nov 13 and then the show was back on. However due to technical problems the show was 20 minutes late. When it started the issue was not solved, so the first part (of three) lacked explamations making it quite lame. Overall we were not very impressed by the show, but some parts were ok.

It is still not happening - apparently because tourist numbers dropped dramatically since problems in Syria and Egypt started. Note that I think Jordan is suffering unneccessarily from problems in neighbouring countries - it is a great (best of all the ME countries we have been to) and safe country!
