A wonderful experience to witness the state of the army 2000 years back. Came to know that the Roman soldiers marched in a file. Every 8 minutes the person in front goes back to the rearmost part of the file and the second person comes to the front

What a nice treat and going back in history to witness this superb production of the Roman Army Chariots. A must for every tourist. Just call to make sure for the times as they are not performing every day.

We traveled from Amman to Jerash just to see the chariot race ane when we got there there was no show. The staff at the entrance could only say "closed". Did not explain if it closed permanently, for the day, for the summer or what. Very dissappointing. The web site has no notice of it being closed. The ruins are OK.

This attraction has stopped. While you can walk around the track there is no longer a show - even if the board says otherwise

We visited the Roman ruins at Jerash the end of April 2014, but the chariot races and gladiator re-enactments are not operating. Weeds were growing in the hippodrome area and there was no sign any performances had happened there in months (or years?). We checked the website before we went and it clearly says there are 2 performances a day,... More

email the organiser to tell you when it's on. sadly due to syria putting off tourists (the place is very safe I assure you) it's not on as much as it should be.

Fabulous show that I would recommend you see, it's only a few pounds and a shame to miss it. Take a hat and water as the arena has no shade.

Was back in Jerash yesterday and was surprised to find that the live experience is back running. It seems that it's really hit and miss as to whether it's on or not. We were told that there would only be the one show at 11am not the normal 2 shows that run but there's no indication as to what days... More
