Dana Nature Reserve is a place of outstanding natural beauty with amazing sweeping panoramic views reminiscent of the spectacular towering rock formations and desert of cowboy films. It really is breathtaking. However, on your visit, do yourself a big favour and stay at a guesthouse or nearby hotel as the Rummana Campsite is to be avoided. Their tented accommodation is... More

Dana Reserve is one of most beautiful places in Jordan. People who like hiking have to go there for sure. Be advised that accomodation in Dana is very simple so do not expect much from lodging. But those who either do not want to stay overnight or do not even have a possibility to climb down the valley still could... More

We stayed Dana Hotel "Guest House", an Eco hotel and that not so Eco and quite basic. Rooms are sparsely decorated and without a phone, TV, or internet. Internet is available on the open deck near check in. This was my first time in an eco hotel, and probably the last. The food was average, but the service and people... More

Arranged a 2.5 hour hike with local guide (for 2 people) and it was great. We climbed down into the valleys and up into the mountains. The guide made a fire and hot tea and told us stories about his childhood. This was the best short hike we've ever taken in a foreign country. Though we climbed a lot, I... More

High mountains, low valleys, springs, flowers, animals, birds, rocks of all sizes and shapes, and beautiful panoramic, senic views comprise the Dana Biosphere Reserve near Tafilah in south central Jordan. The 3 main areas to stay over night are: Dana Village, Rummana Camp and Feinan Lodge (an EcoLodge). Entrance to Dana Village is free, may be accessed by car and... More

We spent 1 night in Dana and we had a half day (approx. 6 hrs) walking tour with a local guide (not an rscn one) together with another couple. We got our guide in Dana Hotel. We started quite early in the morning, Wadi Dana was full of fog, it was a mysterious view. We were the only humans in... More

I come to Dana Nature Reserve (Rummana Camp) every year, sometimes even twice a year in spring and autumn. It is a beautiful place. Fantastic views, campfire that unites all ages, nationalities and religions, friendly and helpful staff. Add to that opportunity to wake up on your own at sunrise and watch clouds depart from a mountain you sleep next... More

We had planned to stay there 2 days - unfortunately we discovered that Dana village was a bit dirty - rubbish everywhere - starving cats - very poor cats - we tried to walk on a small road but 1km farther it was full of rubbish - we saw a local man putting fire in a dustbin with plastics paper... We stayed one night at the Rummana Campsite. It seemed a bit steep at 77Dinars (around £77) but this included the park entry fee, supper for 2 and tent. You leave your car at the top of the hill and a pick up truck takes you down to the campsite. The guide there is really friendly and introduces you to... More

My husband, 16 yr old daughter and I spent one night at the Rummana Campsite inside the Dana Nature Reserve in June 2009. I admit to being a bit hesitant (tents? No a/c?), but I loved it there!! Dana itself is a gorgeous place - and enormous. The scenery is spectacular (I think every bit as beautiful as Wadi Rum,... More
