The ancient Jaffa inside the city walls is just a number of small houses on the slope towards the sea. It is still possible to see the ancient harbour, and to the right from it, the legendary Andromeda's rock where Andromeda was rescued from the sea beast Craken by Perseus.

Andromeda rock associated with Greek mythology, is in front of the beach promenade in Jaffa and down the beach you can see the panoramic and breathtaking view which merges Jaffa and Tel Aviv.

Nothing special in this rock but the fact that it is located at the feet of the old city of Jaffa. Make sure you go down to the sea and feel the smell and the sea spray..

Unless you read the signs along the paths you will not know much about this place , Old Jaffa Port, unless you did your homework. The signs explain the ancient port but now it is a remnant at best. The rock is small, the Israeli flag distorts the natural Beauty here but helps point out the rock ... Locals in... More

I don't really know why the ancients dubbed this submerged rocky prominence as "Andromeda's Rock." Perhaps, methinks the ancients considered the rock outcropping, like women in general, to be beautiful yet dangerous... Actually, in mythological lore, it is reputed to have been the place from which Andromeda was rescued from the Kraken by Perseus (cue: Clash of the Titans movie... More

The fisherman were rude, so don't ask which rock it is. It's the rock with a small pole and flag. There are multiple angles to see the rock.

Great view of the rock, but primarily a view of Tel Aviv, magnificent by day and even better by night.

Always a good story. Romantic spot. Greek mythology, Perseus and Andromeda. Although Wikipedia locates the original story in Ethiopia.

Just a view with a legend behind it tying Perseus and teh Medusa head to Andromeda a princes of Ancient Jaffa. On its own just average but as part of a vist to old Jaffa this is great
