People say: you must go to Shenkin. Having been 2 or 3 times, I say: why? Perhaps Shenkin is for Gen Y but to my mind, it offers little for Baby Boomers. Shenkin is a street comprising clothing stores of all types, food stores, cafes, money changers, music stores and more. Yes it is lively, yes it is reasonably busy,... More

Sheinkin Street used to be THE cool and hip street in Tel Aviv; if Dizengoff was the grande dame of shopping, Sheinkin was its hipster daughter. Well, Dizengoff has lost some its luster and Sheinkin has grown up a bit into a more establishment, less out-there shopping street with some boutiques but too many chain stores with merchandise you can... It used to be the center of hip Tel-Aviv. Unfortunately it is that no more. During my last visit all I saw was a dirty sidewalk, some interesting but quite expensive shops and nothing more. The only bright side is "Orna & Ella's" restaurant which did not lose its charm and good food. If you happen to visit the street... More

The shops are very quaint and are geared mostly for the younger generation. Still an interesting place to visit.

There are some nice little restaurants, designer clothing shops, and jewelry frequented by a young crowd. A busy, "artsy" street with a lot to see - good window-shopping, not far from the gentrified Rothschild Blvd.

For many years Sheinkin street was famous for being a gay-friendly, trendy little street filled with small cafes, restaurants and shops. It has now turned into an upmarket street mostly filled with expensive restaurants and shops, even if a few of the older places have survived rents rises. Most of the hype moved south, to Neve Tzedek, Rotschild street and... More
