I don't really get the excitement about Kerem Hateimanim. Yes, it's a neighbourhood with narrow alleys and unusual residents, but as a tourist to a foreign country I would not find it particularly interesting. Nearby Neve Tzedek and old Jaffa are more appealing and interesting in my opinion if you want to experience old, picturesque neighbourhoods.

Lovely part of Tel Aviv, very unique with its own distinct character. Some of the best humous and a lovely, quiet bar on Malan St.

Narrow streets and uneven houses hold the old yemenite neighborhood. Combine in your itinerery with Shuk Hacarmel and Neve Tzedek

This was the best neighborhood in which to stay. I was on my own for a week and loved being so central to everything. The Carmel market is right around the corner so it's easy to buy enough food to avoid having to eat out all of the time. But if you do want to eat out, there are several... More

If you are coming to tel aviv, even for a quick visit, don't miss it. It is a unique place in the rushing tel aviv. Quite, lovely and full with home made food restaurants, cafe and bars, and a lot of small shops that looks as of time stood still in the middle of the last century. Plants of opportunities... More

This neighborhood is something of a wink to old Tel Aviv, still holds on to some of the original population and atmosphere. Great "home cooked" style local restaurants worth a try and on the cheap side. Hardly any traffic and good atmosphere.
