The beautiful grounds and easy-to-see animals makes this a great site for a family visit. Order a pizza and have a picnic or birthday party.

a beautifully laid out zoo, with animals in large spaces, particularly liked the childrens' zoo, which allowed children to feed and touch the animals

This is the perfect Jerusalem activity for families with kids of all ages, especially when you want a break from the more intense and historical Jerusalem sites. Our family (parents and four teens ranging from 12 - 19) couldn't agree on what to do next, so we went to the zoo....and had a fantastic time! The zoo is very manageable;... More

We spent 1/2 day walking through this gem of a zoo. It is carved into a hillside in southwest Jerusalem. We took a cab, although bus service is available. The presentation on the manicured grounds was lovely. The animals included biblical animals and some that were not. It was really interesting to see some of the animals named in the... More

Great selection of animals in mostly very nice surroundings. It is beautifully laid out in a ravine and makes for a great stroll with the kids.

The Jerusaelm zoo is pleasent and intresting as always, can't even count how many times we've been here :) as the zoo is mostly outdoors make sure to visit when the weather is pleasent and preferably not in the major holidays. all around takes 3-4 hours so plan accordingly. Tip - bring your own food as the offerings are sparse... More

Kids and Adults will love it. The animals have large cages and are well kept. You can walk inside some of the pens (Lemurs and Kangeroos).A lot of water everywhare. Migrating birds are welcome visitors in early winter. Some chickens and peacocks just wonder around the zoo. Recommend having a picnic on one of the lawns, also don't miss the... More

I've been to lots of zoos in lots of countries but keep coming back to the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem...and not just because it's 40 minutes away. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. Plenty of grassy areas and picnic tables to have picnics by the peaceful lake with the monkey island in the middle and the geese, ducks and swans... More

Definite hit with my kids. Nicely laid out with decent amount of space for animals. And good playground for kids.

Fantastic zoo. Very modern in a great location. Pay attention that at the summer most of the visit is out of shade and it might be very hot. On weekends it is mostly reasonably crowded. On holidays it might be too crowded. Ask at your hotel...
