The place that marks the Crucifiction and burial site of Jesus is of course a must see on any itinerary to Jerusalem. The church itself is beautiful. Upon entry a staircase to the immediate right takes you up to the site of Golgotha. Here you can place your hand on the site where the cross stood. Sometimes there is a... More

I spent some time here amid the huge crowds and more time in some of the quiet corners of the Church (yes, there are quiet corners!). People-watching and priest-watching was amazing. I was by myself and thus had complete freedom to wander wherever it looked interesting to me - and wander I did. Definitely worth a couple of precious hours... More

I found this place to be very sad, dark and chaotic. It was an experience that I will not forget, but needed to get out of there quickly.... More

This church is amazing. In order to better understand it a little research is definitely in order. The Greek Orthodox church oversees the tomb and the rock of golgotha sections and do a great job of keeping the visitors moving through their areas. We went the week after Easter and in some areas we could barely move. More

A horrible place, full with idols, lots of people, a very heavy atmosphere for a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian. I don't recommend it at all, moreover it's more than certain that it;s not the place of the crucifiction and burial. More

Beautiful church in a beautiful city - lots of gold - to think that Jesus' body lay there - the dome over where his body lay is beautiful and amazing how the light shines down - if you hate crowds, do not go near any holy days More

Your must visit this church if you want to feel the energy that comes to you. There is the stone where they laid Jesus after the cross, it has a smell to roses and the energy is incredible. A must for us Christ followers, for the non believers makes no sense More
