Danny the Digger We had the fortune of spending two days with Danny A tour where the past is filtered through the eyes of a scientist, in particular the eyes of an archaeologist. As we explored the religious sites in the old city we were challenged with questions "is there a biblical reference to this site" and beyond that, "... More

My husband and I took a one day tour with Danny Herman through the City of David and the Southern Wall. Danny took his time to thoroughly explain the history of the area so that when we went on our tour we were able to really understand everything we saw. His knowledge of archaeology is top notch and he has... More

After spending a few days touring around Israel on my own, I had the pleasure of touring with Danny the Digger. On my own, I saw mosaics, and thought "Wow, amazing they lasted 2,000 years." With Danny, I was able to gain a far deeper understanding of why the mosaics were important, how the archaeologists found them and worked to... More

Danny expertly guided us through the Dead Sea area and explained everything to us from an informative historical perspective.

I've been on many tours worldwide, but Danny stands out. We had a group of 5 people with a wide range of interests and mobility levels. Danny drew us all in with his knowledge and presentation. We especially enjoyed his challenges and debates of some widely held beliefs!!!

We spent a long and exciting day with Danny touring Masada, the Dead Sea and Qumran (it was too hot for the kids to hike Ein Gedi) and enjoyed everything. Scheduling with Danny was a pleasure. It was not easy to coordinate all of our travel plans from the US but coordinating with Danny was easy. The afternoon before our... More

Danny the Digger knows his stuff!!!! He is well educated, articulate and passionate about history, archeology, and his country of Israel. If you pull and push a little, his fun and witty personality will come out!! As this was my 4th group tour of Israel and probably my 6 or 7th guide, I feel as though my opinion is based... More

Excellent guide & great experience with Danny, getting out to Masada, Ein Geddi and the Dead Sea. Had to finish up early when our son became ill, circumstances Danny handled well and fairly.

Just got back from a ten day guided tour from Danny Herman in Israel. This trained academic archeologist is by far, the most interesting, lively, and personable tour guide I have ever met. His depth of knowledge, contacts, and ability to communicate historic facts, topical issues and general understanding of his customers is a real plus. There is no better... More

This man is not a tour guide - this man is an archaeologist who happens to give tours. Unbelievably deep and wide knowledge of the history of religion and Israel. Great service, tailors a tour to fit your available time. Very friendly and engaging, just a delight to be around. We had a very well-paced tour of Jerusalem, a nice... More
