What a wonderful place. Beautifully developed, from a 3d movie to tunnel tours. It was like Disneyland with history. We were only sorry that it was too cold to do the water tunnel, but there is a dry option!

We arrived behind a huge group of Israeli teenagers. I remember standing in line a long time, and listening to the teenagers talk. They were curious about us. They were noisy, but like any group - we were noisy too. All talking with one another. They were well-behaved but full of life. Then we started our descent into the tunnel....

You must visit simply to walk the tunnels and to get a true feeling of the old ruins to see what it was like to live in the day. It is a calm peaceful area.
Archaeology and biblical research come together with ancient history in bringing alive over 4000 years of histgory at this place. No visit to Jerusalem is complete without it.
Try to go early in the day when you still have a lot of energy. You need water shoes for part of the tunnels.

One needs a tour guide to get the best information out of this attraction. It is a marvelous place to learn about our history.
The 3d movie was quite helpful on catching you up to speed on the history of the city of David. The Canaanite Tunnel is rather boring, but Hezekiah's Tunnel is a must. Wish we had a guide for it to learn more informative things about it.
Compared to everything else we did in Israel, this was a real letdown. They did have a nice video at the beginning but the tour was excruciating. Our guide toured more by asking questions than relating the information "and his mother was...?", "whose sister was...?" and if you haven't recently been through Jewish school or a reading of the Torah,...

I had my Bar Mitzvah at the Davidson's center, it was a great spot to do it because you are also right next to the wall
