Orly Ziv's Cook in Israel was an incredible experience. Whe shopped at the market, tasted fresh pita, druze sandwich, oils, vinegars, fruit, etc. Learned about veggies I never saw! Cooking with this group of four was fun and educational. How to cut, mince, roast for a better tasting dish. Eating all we made was such fun and host Ben, Orly's husband... More

My teenage children were very enthusiastic about taking part in our day of cooking with Orly: from the morning in the market (we especially loved the pita bakery--sooo yummy!) and Israeli breakfast to the preparation and lunch. Orly was patient and helpful, offering assistance when needed while still letting the kids try their hands at everything. It was a thoroughly... More

The day of cooking with Orly and her family was one of the highlights of mine and my mother's first trip to Israel. The market in the morning -- breakfast, coffee, people and food watching -- was so much fun. Having a guide who knows the vendors and the nuances of the produce enriched our experience beyond words. Orly loves... More

I echo all the above reviewers, and strongly recommend the day with Orly. Orly was responsive to my family's interests and needs. She quickly took my measure as a enthusiastic but naive lover of Israeli cuisine, and our tour through Carmel Market was filled with information and delightful insights, not to mention samples. Breakfast set the standard for best hummus... More

Orly provided an outstanding experience for our small group of 3 women. She showed us a side of Israel that you can't get from any musuem. We really enjoyed seeing the small Yeminite bakery and all of the wonderful foods at the Carmel market. Cooking traditional Israeli dishes with her at her home and then eating the delicious meal was... More

Orly is a wonderful teacher! My favorite part was when she took us around the market showing us where to get the best produce and products for our lunch, like the Yemeni baker making fresh bread for our meal. Delicious! Highly recommend her. More

Orly provided a well-organized insider's guide to the foods in Israel through the Carmel Market. From spices to produce to prepared foods, she explained their uses within the local cuisine and arranged samples from purveyors who were pleased to help her welcome me. Tour lasted about 2 hours. Advice, don't eat before and of course expect that some foods have... More
