We booked our appointment while in Istanbul. The studio is airy, clean, and full of beautiful clothes and accessories. We took our time picking our favorite outfits, and they even indulged us when my husband wanted to switch. We had a bunch of different poses and took about 40 photos, then we went and looked at the pictures. We went... More

I got the tickets for this photo session from Istanbul Tourist Pass. We have the reservation for that at 16:30 but we arrived little early. The staff were very friendly and professional. I have been wonder about how many costumes and jewelry they have to present two type of ages. Old age with sultans and new age with generals. After... More

Ok, I admit that I'm not really the kind that likes to pose for pictures. But, everyone there at Giycek made me so comfortable that I really enjoyed the photo session. Also, it was very exciting to choose that dress with all its accessories. You are advised as to what goes with what. When the photos are taken, you get... More

We were a group of seven people and had no problem with sizes and variety available to us to dress up. It really was great fun and is a great activity to take part in while in Istanbul.

I went there on my first day in Istanbul . I knew it through tripadvisor. When I reached there , there was only a young lady and we arrived late but she let us in. I can say that she is extremely professional and patient. It took us more than one hour to finish the photo session then to choose... More

Visited the studio after readind the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. I can honestly say I was not disappointed. I visited with my mum as I thought the pictures would be a nice reminder of our time in Istanbul. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated as if we were old friends and made to... More

I was lost. I stood outside Galata Tower and in desperation I called for directions. A pleasant voice offered instructions in flawless English and within minutes my wife and I were given the tour of the place. Giycek is small but it feels classy, none of the cheap or seedy feel of the usual old-time photo places but with the... More

We went there to get some memorable photos and were glad we did! It was lots of fun and they did a good job with suggestions as well as let us bring our own ideas. Overall, we were happy with the results!

We spent a morning of Funtime at the studio playing dress up and having an ottoman empire photo shoot. It is a great way to spend time with friends and family. The lady photographer is great and we got some amazing portraits in both hard and soft copies.

It was a great experience to have our photos taken in traditional outfits of the turks back in the 1900s(just guessing). I really fancy the uniform of the emperors at that time and got myself in it for a shoot! Awesome services from the shop lady boss/founder/owner of Giycek Photo Studio. Will come back again for another shoot if I... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
