Very pretty! Hard to believe it's in Istanbul. Depending on where you travel through the forest, you may even see aqueducts.

On the way to Kilyos, you will see the exit in Bahçeköy for Belgrad Ormanı, this is one of the best forest and picnic area on the northern part of the city Here you can be far from the noise and traffic in total comfort and relax with fresh air. There are also some natural fountains here where you can get fresh... It is a little hard to get there on your own but you can take a bus it almost costs nothing. I advise you to rent a car and have your picnic or bbq there. It is a very pleasant place. Althought i went during winter it was worth it. I imagine during summer it must be more magical. If... More

I went to Belgrad Forest for a run... There is a nice 6km track around a lake with some climbs and some descents that will break the monothony. There is enough people to make you feel safe but not that many that you can't run quietly. If you don't have a car, getting there is not complicated: you take the... More

You take places like this for granted in Europe and America. Really rare in Turkey. Great trails(unmarked) and fire roads for biking, hiking, and running. The website is pretty useless and the guards don't give out any maps and are usually asleep when I ride through. Free for bikes and pedestrians. The only problem really ids the amount of garbage... The forest is 30 Minutes’ drive from the center & there is an entrance fee per a car. Lack of facilities is clear in the forest but the nature is beautiful & calm .It is a good choice if the weather is hot in Istanbul for families group or couples going to the beaches nearby.

We live by the Belgrad Forest (near Kemerburgaz) which is a real gem. Go there with a local who knows the area. If you are a visitor and would like to go on your own, then try Neset Suyu near Bahcekoy. Great for running, walking or biking.
