In the 17thC the wealthy Ottoman and European residents of İstanbul would picnic and take walks in the Belgrade Forest which is located to the west of Sariyer. The large expanse of heathland and forest still attracts the populous of the city who descend en-mass, especially at weekends to spread out their rugs and picnics accompanied by the ever popular... Take a moment from the hectic pace of Istanbul and catch the 42T bus to Belgrad Forest to the north. We caught the bus from Taksim Square and the route took us past the waterways in a scenic tour. Belgrad Forest was not as busy as expected, probably due to the threat of rain, so we had some hours to... More

I like to run so much. In Istanbul there are not so much places to do it but Belgrad forest is one of them. If you really want to run you have to come there very early and finish your job about 8.30 a.m. Because later it's impossible to do it. After that time all forest will be covered by... More

Belgrat forest is full of trails, and is great for a nice walk and a run. Many mountain bikers also go to Belgrat for a trail ride. There is an entrance fee. There are cafes and restrooms in the forest. You need to pay for the restrooms as well, which I don't like. The area is full of trees. The... More

Excellent value fur money if you are looking to join the throngs of "healthy people" for a good run or leisurely walk. Pretty good also if you want to kill a few hours with the kids with a fairly decent play area and picnic spot. I would recommend

Belgrade forest is an area to do many things. You can walk, run, ride a bike and explore. There is a 6km running/walking path around a lake. Also you can see squirrels and even deer wandering around. But if you wish to visit the forest on a weekend be sure to come and leave early. When it gets near noon... More

This forest was the best in Istanbul. It was very nice time there with family where you can enjoy walling into forest or you can sit in the seating area and enjoy the forest there
