It's not my first time in Istanbul. But it's my first visit with my family. I was planing to take them around my self as I know the city very well and had tours earlier with "My Local Guide of Istanbul". Sadly I couldn't manage to meet their expectations as each of them has different taste and interest and also... More

We took two different tours ,secrets of istanbul and eating on 2 continents. Salih our guide was knowledgable and entertaining taking us to places we would never have got to on our own. We ate locally made foods with locals and walked, rode trams and ferries between Europe and Asia visiting fascinating places finishing with smoking Hubble bubble pipes. Both... More

We took the Heritage Istanbul tour - well designed tour along the Golden Horn (we did the main Sultanahmet attractions ourselves as they are pretty centrally located). Party of 4 (including some randoms) led by guide Salih - displayed excellent knowledge of the history and culture of the various attractions (orthodox neighbourhood, orthodox Christian church, lookout area + cable car,... We booked a private tour and had an amazing experience. Our guide was incredibly patient with my mother who is in her 70's and offering extra assistance while climbing stairs, etc. I highly recommend taking a tour

Fantastic tour! Our guide, Semih, was outstanding. It was our first day in Istanbul and we wanted to learn how to manage the tram and get introduced to the old city. Most of the tour was really off the beaten path. Semih was enthusiastic, engaged and really showed us what we wanted to see. He met us at our flat... More

Just got back from a fabulous day. In spite of the terrible heat and traffic Yunus provided us with a memorable day. He was extremely knowledgable and understood our group's need for flexibility and down time. We had an outstanding lunch at Cafe Fuego. Yunus took the time to answer ALL of our questions about Turkey and the local culture.... More

It's always great to have someone show you around in a foreign country. However it's amazing if they turnout to be extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to your entire group. He was very quick in picking up on our restaurant preferences. He was very accommodating when it came in knowledge of sites that were a must see. As for the bus... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
